0:00All right. Well, that was the side topic, which by the way, that got me so juiced because I was so curious what Casey actually had to say about it. So, we'll move this one into done. Good job, everybody.
0:10I think we all did a great job here. And so, now we got to go to some digging games. Now, I do want to be honest here.
0:17Uh, I think that that we're going to have a lot of disappointment [laughter] except from except from from TJ. I'm sure TJ has an excellent one, but I can tell you this much. I have not put in the work that was needed to even get [laughter] my not very good.
0:40Last time you showed a game where the rain was like going up and down in a sine wave. [laughter] So, so anything like even if you just showed something where the rain just went down, that would be a big improvement in you, you would get most you would win most improved for me certainly at that point.
0:58Well, thank you. Uh, well, Casey, the nice part is you are the judge. So, I do think that what you need to judge, okay, obviously is not necessarily like how complete the games are.
1:08Great point. Great point. Yeah, that's true.
1:10How how fun could they be? Like if if we actually sat down and took a lot of effort and and you and you went into it and you know powerups whatever are added to the game to make it more you know convincing but it's what has the in the rough that's mostly rough. Can I just say prime I feel like this is all this feels like leading the leading the jury or leading the witnesses whatever it's called [laughter] like hey well what we really want to judge on
1:40I mean is the potential of the game not what's [laughter] there I don't think that's fair TJ you're absolutely right that this is leading the witness but I would like to say I'm both judge jury and executioner and so I don't care overruled [laughter] I feel like uh this is so so you're saying this is like little little Jimmy who who's not he's not excelled in school. He's got his finger in his nose.
2:04We're like sitting with the teacher at at parent teacher conference and and it's like but he has potential. That's what you're you're looking for. Like like he could go on to bigger things.
2:14You know, thinks of himself more as like a Goodwill Hunting style character.
2:18Oh, so which one is the janitor that's going to solve equations, right? That's Prime. It's like he's writing the equation on the board and like he could have an illustrious career in mathematics but like he's been busy this week, right?
2:31Unfortunately, I was actually writing the equations on the board, but then I had janitorial service to do, so I actually couldn't follow through. You know, it's like you can only do so much.
2:42You had to go get a a girl's number at a at a restaurant. I can't remember what happens with that. He like he always at a bar. He's like, I got a number. He said [laughter] he says like, "I got a number."
2:53I do remember him saying that. I got a number. [laughter] How do you like them apples? I got a number. Something like that. Yeah, that's Boston. Those are the Boston accents you guys like. That whole movie is Boston accent.
3:04Did you say with a Boston accent?
3:06But it's a bunch of fcking. You know, there's a lot of going on. [laughter] It was very hard to understand what was what was going on there.
3:13Anyway. Okay. So, how am I supposed to judge these games? Are you guys going to show me some demos here or I think trash probably needs to whisper us inside of our Discord.
3:23The where to go for the URLs just so we don't get absolutely bombarded.
3:28By chat and then we then I will change the scene and bring it up and we can all bring it up.
3:32So I have things I need to say before.
3:35[laughter] I love that. That's a great start. Have you ever deployed to production and everything is green and awesome? But when you go to the website, oh my gosh, IT'S A 500. WELL, don't worry because linear has your back. See, when that 500 hits, your air reporting can create a linear ticket which will kick off a linear loop. So, honestly, why spend 30, 40, 50 minutes of your time searching around with these production bugs when you can get automated pull requests to get you started with the correct fix?
4:03And just like that, a pull request issue is created and patch received, error fixed, and production is all good now. So check out Linear today and actually save real time. The ad is the linear engine.
4:18I see TJ. I'm not the only one. TJ, by the way, you're also allowed to have a preamble.
4:22No, no, but the funny thing is is I've been working hard for like two weeks, okay? But this is what I This is all I have to show. [laughter] I pivoted. I pivoted. That's yesterday.
4:34Um, so I'm going to show you a number of things. I'm going to show you my original ideas.
4:38Okay, great. I love this.
4:41And then we're going to show you what I pivoted to last night.
4:44And then what has just deployed like 5 minutes ago.
4:47So, we'll see if that works.
4:48And then I actually have a game that I'm going to launch today that I think everyone's going to enjoy, especially you, Prime. Um, based on this game you've been playing for a long long long time.
4:57But this is not a pivot. This one's not the pivot.
5:00This is This is not pivot. This is This is my add making a bunch of random things at this point.
5:05Okay, that makes sense. Okay, so here's the first one.
5:08Yeah, let's walk through specifically cuz that that will help me trash.
5:11So, the first one I'm going to share was supposed to be multiplayer for all of us.
5:15Okay, I tested it for the first time last night with some friends and boy oh boy, that thing was lag city. So, [laughter] I will say there's just there's no way you all are going to we're going to be able to play together. [laughter] That's another one where a game four of us That's really funny though where a game looks good for multiplayer.
5:34Okay, so let me I thought Cloud Flare like worked out of the box. I don't know. So something happeneding with Cloudfare. I was using Party Kit and things just went all right. We were trying to play and it was just not good.
5:47So So this is the first thing I sent you. This is I was trying to make like a I was trying to be nostalgic. You remember like being in computer lab in school? You had like a flash game website. You can kind of just pick random games just to kind of kill time in class. Um, so I was going to make something like that. So I sent it in the Discord.
6:05So we can't play multiplayer because I tried to do that. It's just too laggy.
6:08It does work. Okay. By the way, it just it's just it's too laggy. Like I even had like a room code and it wouldn't even show it on the on the page cuz I don't want other people to join. It turns out we just can't even play. So that's fine. That's fine. So I have all these random games here. So it started off with like digging and then I was like digging and I was like well I don't know that's kind of boring.
6:29So, like in the spirit of digging, I had something like a backyard pool where you can Wait, can we pause, Trish? You made us build digging games and then you decided it was too [laughter] boring.
6:38No. Well, no. I have a digging game. It's just not on this platform. I have lots. That is how Minecraft got started, guys. Okay? So, don't don't knock it. Like, you might trash might just have act like accidentally handed you the keys to the next $2 billion buyout from Microsoft.
6:56True, true, true. I'll just show you how my brain has evolved over the past two weeks. Okay, so I started off with like a really simple sandbox. I was like, "Well, sandbox is kind of boring." So I was like, "Okay, what about like water?"
7:07So you can go in here, you shake it, you can throw How are you How are you lowering the How are you lowering the bucket?
7:12Yeah. Do you push the You push the You just click with the mouse. That's it. It's literally That does not happen on my machine. If I click the mouse, nothing happens on my machine.
7:20You have to You have to hit start playing in the top left.
7:23Start playing. There's no There's no start playing in the top left. Just says connect. Are you in practice? No. Go to practice. Go to practice.
7:29I can't go to practice. It's It doesn't let me click on that. It just says friend. I'm in. I'm in.
7:35You got to refresh the page. Refresh the page.
7:37I'm in. It works for me. It works for me.
7:41I love the f I love the FPS counter for a single bucket of water.
7:47NO, BUT EVERY time I refresh the page, it goes back Every time I refresh the page, it goes back to friends. It won't let me click on anything else.
7:56[laughter] I I Dude, I'm I'm watering. [snorts] Are you watering right now? Okay.
8:01Why is the bucket not going to the side?
8:05It is going. What do you mean?
8:06When I go here, I had to click leave room. That's what happened.
8:10Look at this. It just remains.
8:11Oh, you mean why is it not tipping over?
8:12Why is it not tipping over when you move it?
8:16Well, I mean, how do I know that I'm getting water in?
8:18Is it just like You literally see it fill up. So, like the more you move it side to side, the faster it will actually fill up. [laughter] Hey. Hey, Trash. Can you tell me why the uh why the size of the bucket is 241.2 milliliters? [laughter] Oh man, that was the bugging code.
8:37It's not even a full liter. I'm not even doing a full liter at a time. [laughter] Okay. Okay. Well, okay. You get the point. So, that's the first one.
8:45Shake it back and forth. I don't think that actually increases speed. [laughter] It does. I'm telling you. I'm telling you it does. I'm telling you. But see, but you can also use a sponge. Look, you can do a sponge and you like fill up the sponge with water and you squeeze it.
8:57Well, how do you get a sponge? Start playing.
8:59Yeah. How do you get the sponge?
8:59So, you can go to [laughter] So, if you go to like you can do if you there's like a reset button in the top right and then it'll let you choose your tools. If you look at my screen, I'm not Yep, I got it. I'm setting the sponge.
9:13You see it? You see it? You see it?
9:16Read the buttons. Read the buttons.
9:18You just squeeze it. So, you just push and hold just like the bucket.
9:22All right. squeezy squeezy and then you uncclick and then you just un So it's just like a like little various tools that will take longer to do things. I was like okay well I don't know if I want to do that anymore.
9:33So then I was like what other games how are you going to make strategy here?
9:37Well I mean the strategy is basically how fast can you be effectively and then so I was like okay let's make it a little bit harder APM. You already won Star Warcraft APM. I know this is going Yeah. So I was like let's make it slightly harder. Um so I was like I don't know. I'm Asian. I like chopsticks, right? That makes sense.
9:54So, I had a chopstick game and you basically I like I like chopsticks. Just throwing that [laughter] out there.
9:59I don't know why I said that to me.
10:02It just po it just popped in my head. This literally that was my thought process. Um, so I have this kitchen game.
10:07Chopsticks. [laughter] I don't think that's true.
10:10I don't think that's true.
10:11I don't think Russia's known for chopsticks. Anyways, I I I do love them. So, I made this kitchen prep game and I was like, "Okay, let's let's see how fast we can like empty out like a a platter. Originally, it was like sushi or something, right?
10:28[laughter] So, you can throw these things. So, it's like basically you're racing to see who can clear it out.
10:33So, it's like So, this one takes a little bit more skill, right? You have to be more accurate, right? That makes sense. So, you get that.
10:4032 vegetables removed.
10:43It's a [laughter] game.
10:43So, I was like, uh I was like, okay, well, maybe we can go like a little bit further. Maybe we can do LIKE AN ESAVATOR.
10:49SO, like an excavator and you can go here, you can dig and you can like pour it out, right? So, it's the same same concept, right? All these are the same concept of you having to clear something within a time limit. So, there's different time limits or you can go all the way box.
11:03So, excavator was cool. And I was like, okay, well, you know, that's not something you can play with a lot, right? That was pretty good. I was like, well, that's pretty good.
11:10I'm kind of I was like, okay, I'm kind of tired of digging. Let's like do something that's more like friendlop. So then I made like a dung beetle game and you can basically race to collect poop and you put it in your your little thing here and you can go to other people's things and you can steal you can steal their poop too. So just like this like my my mind start going with the fun friend slap stuff so you can battle right I can't steal his poop he can like boot me or whatever but the idea is who can collect the most poop or whatever. I was like okay. So this is like where I was kind of like pushing the models a little bit. I was like let's try this.
11:40And this is where the multiplayer came in. So when I tried to play this it was just super laggy. We just can't even I love that the beetles walk backwards. They go butt first. I love the butt. I think they're dumb beetles. That's what they do, right? When they have poop, they go backwards.
11:55I don't know. That's a good question.
11:57But they're going backwards even when they don't have poop, though. [clears throat] If they don't have poop, they walk normal like this.
12:02I don't know why the computers are walking backwards. These are all I was going to say the ones I'm watching are going backwards all the time. Okay.
12:09They [laughter] know something.
12:10I think they know something I don't know. I was like, "Okay, so now we like now we're getting now my mind's getting into the multiplayer stuff." I was like, "Okay, we could probably get a little bit harder. That takes a little bit more skill." Because that wasn't too bad. So I was like, "Okay, let's like do a tow truck game." So here you have to actually use like WD back up and actually like Oh gosh, I'm not very good at That's actually kind of a nice aesthetic trash. I'm not going to lie. This is a nice aesthetic. It reminds me of the traffic jam game where you move the cars around to try like set up the different puzzles. You know what I'm saying? You
12:40know the game. Oh man, that car is getting by. Where is it? Where's the not picking up the car?
12:47You have to bump into it first like a real tow truck. [laughter] Okay.
12:51Yeah. See, see this? So, this is where it starts to get harder, right? Like this is actually to the side. [laughter] This is actually super hard to do. I was like, "Okay, let's see what else we can do." So, this is like This is just This is me evolving over time, right? Right. We're seeing your skills. This is good though, Trash. This is good. I know. Slowly getting better.
13:13But why? Like was it that you didn't think that you could do more with this game? Like it seems like you stopped before seeing if there was a game here though in a lot of these.
13:25Well, I cuz like for these it's like my kind of goal was how long could I see myself actually playing this game before I just forget about it.
13:34But how would you know? Like clearly you could make a game about towing cars. I mean true. Yeah.
13:39Yeah. Yeah. I think so, too. But I think ultimately like my where I went was I was trying to like I said in the beginning, I was trying to make like a site of a bunch of mini games.
13:48Where you can kind of just pick something, kill some time, and then go do something.
13:52Okay. So, they So, that was kind of like the idea. It's like like let me get a quick fiveminute gaming session in effectively.
13:57So, that's like basically where this whole site is. That's why there's so many different modes, right? So, we have like this one.
14:02If you ever play like Karate Kid, there was like you could catch chopsticks way back in the day.
14:07So, this is kind of like the modern version. So you can you can catch little flies and throw them in your bowl and like like there's gold flies. The gold flies are like worth more and it's pretty it's honestly it's kind of hard to do.
14:17So this is like where like you would have friends not helping there.
14:21NO CAMERAS. IT'S NOT PERFECT. It's not perfect. Okay.
14:27But you see where I'm going with this. I was like okay cuz I'm trying to figure out games that would be harder that would make people want to play against each other. So it's like I need to keep like stepping There has to be an element of skill that makes it fun and an element of luck that makes it so that even when someone's not as good, they can still win sometimes.
14:43Exactly. And that's where my surprise game comes in later, which you will see.
14:46Oh, okay. Oh, I like this.
14:48Um, so the rest of these like honestly there's not they're not too difficult. Like I made again this is me kind of just testing the LM to see what they could do. You can basically be a goose and just like [laughter] collect stuff and go against your friends to see how fast you can collect these.
15:02Woo. Um, basically just see how see see how fast you can click a picnic or a picnic blanket or whatever. So like again these don't really have like too much depth. It's just like h I was kind of just curious because Astra just came out. So I was really curious like what it could do. And what I figured out was it was good at modeling but not so much the code. So what ended up happening I was going to say that kind of looks like it it looks like the code's very janky but the the modeling is like you've asked it to produce all these things and it did some you know it like it did a wide variety. They're kind of
15:32in the same style, but I assume that was a request of yours, right? Because you want the site to look right, you know, so that's uh that's desirable, right?
15:42I think my computer's dying because of this website.
15:47Gary Tan's cable. You're going to burn out Gary Tan's cable. [laughter] Can't do anything.
15:51Oh my god. Am I back? Oh my god. That website.
15:56Okay, literally just killed me.
15:59I think I think there's too much there's too much 3JS going on. Hold on. Let me share again.
16:04It's Tan's revenge. It's Tan's revenge.
16:06Dude, Casey, as an expert, as a legendary game programmer, when you see this many models take down a website, what do you feel on the inside?
16:14I mean, I to be honest though, I I don't necessarily feel anything on the inside because it's been known for so long how bad the like web handling of this stuff is. It's like you go to a 3D site and all of a sudden all the fans spin up for no reason. Like, what is going on? I I don't know that that's it might be I'm sure part of it's the AI's fault, but a large part of it just the platform being bad, right? And it's the training data, you know. So, I don't know.
16:39It's the training data because unfortunately people made bad sites beforehand.
16:42Yeah. Yeah. I I don't I don't blame the AIS for things that I've seen happen plenty of times before. Right. Uh Okay. [clears throat] This is the one This is the one where I pivoted last night. Um because I felt bad that I didn't have a digging game and then we were talking in Slack or on Discord yesterday that we should have a digging game. So I started panic.
17:01I thought for the last two weeks we're like dude trash digging game here comes trash and trash is like so I pivoted last night to make a dating digging game.
17:09I do [laughter] need to I do need to understand what was the digging game you were speaking of two weeks ago. Was it the platform that you built or something that you're not going to show us? So the idea would have been so you know how like we had like the the pool game where you're kind of just scooping out water.
17:25It was effectively that just with sand and you would just have like a fork or a knife and it would just be absurd and you just be like clicking like mindlessly very fast to see who would win.
17:33But we don't have that that game's not it's not [laughter] I ditched it. I ditched I completely ditched it. I completely ditched it and like I evolved it into like these other games and then I was like slowly realizing that the idea just was like I just realized the idea just wasn't very good.
17:47Okay. So, [laughter] it wasn't very good. So, it wasn't very good for a multiplayer kind of thing. So, this what I'm showing you is literally like the point of view of you in front of some dirt and it's literally a digging simulator, but it's actually kind of hard to do because it's based off of the game Quap.
18:06So, you actually have to Nice.
18:09So, you have to except Quop guy.
18:12Yeah. Except for this version. This one This one's live. This is dig.quorop.com quorup.com because there's actually I'll share this in the chat, too.
18:19Oh, wow. There's there's a lot of letters.
18:23So, this one's actually six letters, which then we'll go into Hey, just a quick question. Quick question. How come you didn't make it uh how come it's not uh qwy op? Because then it would have been symmetrical. er really makes it very uns it actually makes it so for my next game it actually makes it a lot easier to play which was one of the main reasons.
18:47Okay, which maybe I can [laughter] always progression we can switch it later again. I can always tell my LLM to change it but for right now this is what it is.
18:56We're one we're one English sentence away.
18:59Mhm. So right now Q and W will lift it up and down. E and R will basically change the angle. Oh, I'm sure I can play it.
19:08Oh, okay. There we go.
19:09Okay. Can you see me now?
19:14You can see it now, right?
19:16Yeah. Why are you going up and down like that? It's weird.
19:18I was trying to demo the movement that Okay, so Q and W are up and down. E and R are the angles, right?
19:26Oh, I love this. You have the op.
19:31And then O is like you're pushing it down to the ground. And P is you're pulling it out. So what you would want to do is you do W to lower it. And then you get your little angle in there. And then you push uh Oh god. Push down with O. Change your little thingy here. Get it up. And then you pull it out. And then you lift it. And then you move your thing over here. And then you change the angle. Boom.
19:53So there's like different milestones. We have these milestones here where you can get to a certain depth. And it actually saves everything in local storage. So, this is not something you have to do in one activity. So, if you're bored one day and you just want to like dig cuz that's just like the dig.
20:06You know what I'm saying?
20:07You have to dig some dirt, you go in there. Boom.
20:10You know what I'm saying? You go over here and then that's literally it. And so, you'll at each level you'll see different things. I think there's like dinosaur fossils at some point.
20:19What do you mean like [laughter] uh made it successfully dig here? I'll go to my local version that's a little bit deeper. So, this version's a little bit deeper. So, there's some things in there. You see that?
20:34Oh, I do see that down.
20:35What is that? What is that like golden rope that's sticking out?
20:37I think it's supposed to be a worm. Is it supposed to be a wormation in both screens? Okay. So, it's the same.
20:44It's a worm. It's a worm. Again, I just I just made this. It just just deployed just now. Okay. You know what I'm saying? So, you can see it gets deeper, but you can see how you can get you can get pretty deep in this game.
20:54Okay. [laughter] So, I'm gonna I'm gonna take it. I'm going to see how far I can get. My goal is to actually get to the bottom. But it makes it interesting cuz you can kind of like figure out get your rhythm with the with the shovel.
21:08See that? So, this is again this is like this is more of like those truck drive like truck driver simulators, plane simulators here. This is literally just a digging simulator, right?
21:16Digging simulator mixed with quap. I can respect that trash.
21:20Okay. Now, for the actual game that I want everybody to play.
21:25Okay. You don't have to play now, but you can play later in life. We have this new game.
21:34I love where this is going.
21:36And you have to pitch. So Q is your arm. Q QW is your arm. [laughter] E R is your torso. And you can lose balance. You can lose your balance. So you have to time it really [laughter] good. All right. And then OP. OP is your legs. All right.
21:53Oh, trash. It's great. So, you have to figure out how to I've been practicing a lot, so I'm not bad at That was a pretty good throw.
22:03I've been playing I've I've threw at least like 5,000 pitches in this game.
22:08So, what you could do is you can try to get the highest you can get right now.
22:10What's the web address?
22:15Everybody go you can go on the leaderboard domain for this. I love it.
22:20It's a It's a live leaderboard. So, so if you get a high score, you can actually share your score here and then go put it on Twitter or whatever you want to do.
22:25That's it. I'm getting Jem to figure all of THIS OUT.
22:28NO, DON'T USE your your llabs, dude. I I will be so mad. But this game So, I made this game yesterday and I was playing with friends. We were like, "Oh, man. This is like actually super d We're like sitting here playing it forever cuz it took me probably an hour just to get like a really good a really good form."
22:47So, yes, I see this. But hey, I need faster reset. I need faster reset.
22:53True. True. Needs like instant back to the next instantaneous. Okay.
22:58It's like it's like a second, right? Or two seconds.
23:01That's way too long.
23:02I mean, I'll deploy that.
23:03Yo, it should be you fall over. You should just be able to press space and it goes right back. Space just resets.
23:08All right. I'm I'm doing it right now.
23:11I'm doing How do I throw the ball?
23:16So that that's my dope. So this is the game I really want. It's actually quora space.
23:22Okay. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Hold on, dude. I I dude I [laughter] I have this.
23:26I know. Prime. I want to watch Prime do it for I want I know, but I know Prime would Prime's going to like not He's going to play until he can't I just lost a week of productivity from him on this one. Trash. Thanks.
23:37Okay. Okay. [laughter] Okay. Hold on.
23:39So 602 I think is the highest score that you can get. And I think we've got in 601. I cleared the leader board before uh What do you mean it's the highest you can possibly get? Like the body a little funny.
23:55Don't complain. Just get used to it.
23:56Acclimate. Acclimate.
23:57Great point. Great point. Acclimate.
24:00Okay. Okay. Okay. Someone someone scored a 601. The the fastest you can throw it is 90 miles hour and a strike.
24:07The more accurate the strike, meaning it's in the middle of the strike zone, the more bonus points you get. And then the faster you throw it, the more points you get.
24:16So, it's all about speed and accuracy.
24:19All right. So, that's what makes it super super hard.
24:22Once you once you figure it out, it's good.
24:25Prime Prime's addicted now, dude.
24:27[laughter] Yes. I do. It is. It is a great game. Okay. Okay. It is a great game.
24:32This is a A+. This is a A+ game for me.
24:36Yeah. Corrop is This is incredible. I just want to play so bad for like an hour to get this like throw down.
24:43Nice. Plum did it. Nice job, Plum.
24:44People are cooking easy, dude. GG easy gets 90 miles an hour. He's cheating.
24:49CASEY, any thoughts?
24:51Um, I'm probably the wrong target audience cuz I like I hate quap games. Like, so, so this is like almost impossible for me to judge. I think we should just use Prime.
25:03How how long Prime plays it for as the as the scoreer for Trash's game because that that's like he's obviously the target audience, right?
25:10Casey, have you seen Prime do actual quap?
25:13No, I I didn't know that. I didn't know that he was a quapper.
25:18Yeah. A little quick. Okay. So, just to be fair, I have not quapped in like in any serious capacity for for a long time, Casey. So, it's going to take me a second to remember how to do this. Hold on. Okay. Yep. Yep. Hold on. Give me a second.
25:33Plus, he just got messed up on Quorop, obviously. So, it's Oh my gosh. What is going on?
25:39Trash is messing up his uh messing [clears throat] up his muscle.
25:42Okay, I think I I think I almost got it back. Just give me a second.
25:46One time me and Prime did multiplayer quap as in we both played one half of [laughter] the keyboard.
25:52What is happening right now?
25:54Oh gosh. Okay. Okay.
25:56That was okay. That was okay. Give me a second. Blue. You kind of got Oh, there we go.
26:02I'm still not feeling it. I'm still not feeling it. My My quab skills have clearly deteriorated.
26:07Oh, yeah. Look at that. Now, this All right, one more. Oh my gosh. We've got multiple weeks of lost productivity now cuz you're just back on train.
26:19Great. Quop is back.
26:22Oh yeah. Oh yeah. You're getting my gaming face, which by the way, back. Why I can't why I can't do uh why I can't do gaming and streaming because I get the most intense face.
26:33That isn't that good? Isn't that good for game streaming?
26:36Oh, look. DID YOU SEE THAT SWEET MOVE?
26:38OH, THE BUNNY HOP, DUDE. BECAUSE I QUED AN uncontrollable amount. [laughter] LOOK AT THAT. THEY DON'T CALL ME Twinkle Toes for nothing. Okay, buddy.
26:50Do they call you Twinkle Toes at all?
26:54Wait, you can beat Swap? I didn't even know that.
26:56Do you not see how fast I'm going?
26:58You are going very fast right now, actually.
27:00Oh no. OH NO. OH NO. OH GOD.
27:02OKAY. [laughter] Good save.
27:06Oh, but this is where I get kind of into that really hard zone where uh you have to now do the hurdle.
27:16OH, YOU DON'T [screaming] DUDE. I HAD IT. I had it.
27:21All right. I You know, I I could get back into it, but I can't. Do you also play Did you play like sexy hiking or its successor uh getting over it with Bennett FOD?
27:30Uh I did I did play I did play get try play getting over it for a moment. It is getting over it is is really hard. You have to really get in there. I couldn't quite hit the same okay as Qua. Qua was like naturally spoke to me immediately.
27:44Okay, Prime, great job.
27:46I know. I'm I'm going to really get into this.
27:48All right, so what about you? What about uh T?
27:50Yeah, Prime, do you want to go or me?
27:52I've got I'm ready. I think. All right, Trash. Go ahead and play.
27:55Read it, Trash. I got to hear you. 11 11s8 p.m.
28:00That's right. That's what it says.
28:02[laughter] That is what it says.
28:07Oo, trash in espanol. I like it.
28:09Gotcha. Track anything. Remember everything. Never lose an argument again. Time to ship it. Press space to ship it. Gotcha. V1 is live. It's beautiful. [laughter] Now, let's find out who really leaves the dishes in the sink.
28:27I see what digging means in this situation. [laughter] The next morning, walk with arrow keys, face evidence, and press space to log it with Gotcha. [laughter] Press enter to check your gotcha log.
28:40Oh, what did you do, Dean? [laughter] Oh, NO.
28:47OH, my the dish pile. Oh no.
28:50Dish in sync. Day 41. The fork has achieved sentence or sentience. What?
28:56[laughter] Oh my god. Exhibit A. The one that started it all. Oh my. [snorts] I got to show this to my wife. She's going to love this game. Every cabinet door is open. The kitchen looks like it's screaming.
29:10That's actually pretty good. It's pretty good.
29:12I'll close them after the photo, maybe.
29:15[laughter] Four boxes. It was on sale. Logged. The tower of consumerism. Tagged and filed.
29:27Set to for 74 degrees Fahrenheit. I set it to 68. [laughter] A six degree betrayal. The numbers don't lie. I do, but the numbers [laughter] don't. Oh my goodness.
29:39So, Tee, I'm curious. Like, yep.
29:43Because you had to prompt an AI to do this. Did you have to prompt the AI with an explanation of what Trash had done with his receipts [laughter] app?
29:52I'll be honest with you, Casey. I did not have to pro Trash. Go check some of the other doors, too, before you go.
29:58I know. I was about to go. Oh, [clears throat] wait. What's this thing following me?
30:02Yeah, he's Oh, you'll find out.
30:04You're digging yourself into Okay, that's cute.
30:08This is literally I'm not joking though, Casey. I think our podcast about the receipts app is in the training data because it picked some of the exact ones without me having to do anything.
30:23Are we that important?
30:24Really common like leaving dishes in the sink. It was just like No. No. Because I specifically told it to go do a little bit of research on some of the stuff from our podcast and everything. So it like uh by the way this was not very many prompts either. This I started this this morning that so so you literally so the AI now know about Trash's app.
30:45Yep. Yeah. Trash. Why don't you talk to her? [laughter] Esposa wants to talk. Go. Gotcha. What [snorts] will Basura do? Accuse. Gotcha. I'm going to dig dig. I'm just saying [laughter] I'm supposed to use deep accuse dish pile presented the dish pile exhibit a 14 dishes timestamped geo tagged it's super effective on pasura's hole [laughter] those are your dishes from your ramen basura is knee deep now the hole got
31:22deeper supposed to use the look it's super [laughter] effective on busura what will baser do I'm running, dude. [laughter] She's standing in the doorway. There's no running from this conversation. We're supposed to use I'm fine. It's a trap. Bas fell for it. Gotcha. Let's do push. Whoa. Export PDF.
31:46Push notification from the app. Okay.
31:49He's It's all the different things he can do from the app.
31:53Thanks. He's logged.
31:54I exported a 12-page PDF. It has a table of contexts exposed to use counter evidence. Oh my goodness. She pulled up three years of text sorted by date. Basor is [laughter] waist deep. The hole got a lot deeper.
32:08Dude, this is insane.
32:10I'm kind of confused why it keeps saying the hole got deeper, but it it doesn't seem to have gotten much deeper.
32:17No, I mean the in the whole depth meter, but perspective. Oh, the whole depth meter. Yeah. Yeah, that's right.
32:22I wasn't even paying attention to that.
32:23The meter meter has the meter is just not connected. Maybe.
32:26Yeah. Yeah. It says there's There you go. See, I'm getting lower.
32:29It's supposed to went to the bedroom.
32:33Look how big my hole is.
32:35You're in big trouble now.
32:38The thing I like about this game is it's accuracy. It's It's [laughter] This is This is extremely accurate.
32:44This is like It has like a good real life accuracy.
32:46That literally looks like my wife too.
32:48[laughter] Expos wants to talk. Go. Gotcha. Oh my god. So, does this just keep doing this until I get to the bottom?
32:56Yeah. Yeah, I think. Uh, so then, right. So, yes, after you do this fight, um, usually [laughter] it'll say maybe I instead of making an app, I should make a game about digging. We don't have to play that.
33:08Let's just see it. Let's just see it. I'm not mad. [laughter] The bar is getting the the whole depth. The bar It did go up. It did go up. It goes up a little.
33:19I'm sorry you feel that way. Bad move, trash. Bad move. Cool. Here we go. Calm down. [laughter] Oh no. That's like the most triggering statement ever.
33:34I hate you. Well, that's [laughter] that's a little heavy-handed. Supposedly hates Basura.
33:43[laughter] Oh my go. This is amazing. Gotcha. Wow. Maybe I'll TRY MAKING GAMES.
33:52[laughter] WELL, I WAS uh [applause] Yeah, I got to show this to my wife. This is way too good. This is way too good. Oh my I have no words.
34:06I have no words for that.
34:10Thank you. Thank you.
34:11That reminds me kind of of like the Pony Island sort of genre of games if you guys know.
34:18I don't know. I'm not I don't watch My Little Pony.
34:22Do you guys You guys don't know Pony Island. You don't know the Hex. Do you know the Hex?
34:28I know Pen Island. You Oh god. All right. Dang. Classic. [laughter] All right. Well, fine.
34:34You pen Island. You know Pen Island.
34:36Yeah. Pen Island. Yes.
34:42All right. Prime. Are you ready?
34:44I got I believe I believe I am ready, but I I just want to triple make sure. Okay. I just want to make sure everything.
34:50Okay. just for uh just for while probably you're getting that set up. I'll just mention a few things about the game. So, I started that this morning. That was all Opus 55. I wanted to test it out since that's what the original tweet was.
35:01I probably spent I spent less than two hours probably on the game.
35:08Um how many hours you spend thinking about it?
35:12Um I had the idea very early on after Trash said game.
35:17Yeah. Yeah. of making one about him digging himself in a huge hole. Um, I like that.
35:22My wife thought it was hilarious. I showed her this morning as I was making it and she was like, "That's really good. I can't wait for that to to go." So, I knew I was on to something that's called Market Research.
35:31Hey, is anybody in the [laughter] game, by the way? Is anyone in the game?
35:35Oh, did you share it?
35:36Yeah, I shared it in the standup. I just want to make sure because Yes. Uh, okay. Nice. I see somebody. I see someone joined up. Nice, nice, nice, nice.
35:42I'm coming. I'm coming. Hold on.
35:44Okay. Awesome. Awesome. Okay. So, everyone enter in your name. Okay. Hold on. We got to share the screen. Does anyone want to share their screen?
35:52Okay. Why don't you share trash? Trash is the designated share.
35:55Okay. Prime, I have a question.
35:58For you cuz I really I need to know the answer to this question.
36:03Every time. So, all of the games that Trash showed at the beginning, maybe not so much the the actual hole digging game, uh, or the baseball game, but like all the pre the all the ones previous to that and then the one that TJ showed, the art was all reasonable, but every time you've shown a game, it looks great super like I don't even know what I'm looking at. I can't even parse what is my character. What are What are you
36:32prompting differently that makes it so that it's unintelligible when when what is going on? You'd be shocked that this piece of artwork that you're looking at cost over $500.
36:41WHAT? [laughter] WHAT HAPPENED THOUGH, BRO? HOW, DUDE? How What's going on?
36:47I don't I You know what? I got to figure that out at another time. Okay.
36:50I'm not an artist. All right. BUT BUT YOU'RE NOT BUT YOU'RE BUT THE AI IS YOU'RE YOU'RE not making the art. The AI is making it. And it why is it making pixel art that looks okay for for TJ and not for you?
37:02My guess is that TJ's using real photos.
37:04I didn't use any real photos, right? I assume he didn't TJ did not describe what trash looked like in English to get that good of a Yeah, but look at TJ's avatar and Casey's What is that?
37:14I don't know what I'm looking. It just looks like a big mess.
37:18I mean stuff. I don't know what's happening.
37:20The shadow. You only see your avatar and then you see the shadows of the other players.
37:24Okay. Well, I'm ready.
37:25What am I? I haven't I haven't entered in mine. Well, you just look at yours. I I don't know what yours look like. Okay. Mine looks terrifying. Just in case you're wondering, mine looks very scary. Okay. I'm going to share it.
37:34I'm ready. Whatever.
37:35Mine just looks like looks like visual noise. Like it loaded an image wrong. It looks like like the loader was broken or something. It doesn't look right.
37:42Oh, so yours looks like Okay. Yours look terrible.
37:45I I will try to explain what's going on here, which is that [laughter] we have a digging game. All right. Cuz I thought we were making digging games. TJ once again hit the uh hit the pun. And so how it works is a real digging game, too.
37:58Yes. As you can see on the side, there is uh left, down, up, right.
38:03There will be a song that plays and arrows that come up.
38:07Depending on how accurately you hit the arrows is how fast you dig.
38:11Oh, and the audio it you don't have to. It's not that great of a song, just in case you're wondering. Fable [laughter] did create it. Depending on how fast you or how well you hit the the uh arrows is how fast you dig downwards. If you fall off the screen revolution if you fall off the screen then you die or you're supposed to die and it's supposed to be the fastest person going down. I was going to put in like other types of dirt that is harder.
38:38You could go left and right. All right, but all of those I couldn't do it.
38:42So instead we did this one. So I'm going to hit enter.
38:45All right. So now you pretty much just have to start.
38:48Oh my gosh. WASD or arrow keys.
38:50It looks like it's uh WASD.
38:54All right. So, I should have Mine doesn't register any pushes no matter how accurate I am.
38:58Yeah. M mine's definitely going real fast.
39:02So, I'm just pressing down arrow and apparently that just works. [laughter] Okay. So, that's not supposed to happen. And you guys are supposed to die.
39:09This is This is not working at all.
39:11It's not working at all. And so, I didn't try it out [laughter] today.
39:14It's also not on the beat.
39:16Yep. It's not on the beat, dude. I know it's not on the beat at all.
39:19Also, you could just keep hitting down.
39:20You don't have to do anything.
39:21Hey, Casey. But look, the networking does work, which you have to at least be impressed with that.
39:29You're [laughter] not.
39:30This is better than Call of Duty.
39:32Well, that left and Why is it that you move left and right when you hit the things? It doesn't even make sense as a game concept.
39:41Like, if I just hit left and right, I dig right and left. What?
39:47Like why would it not be that I'm digging straight? It's a dance game. I So obviously it got a little bit confused. It It put the arrows there and it just kept the arrows, but it didn't actually do anything with the arrows.
40:00No, I'm saying it's doing stuff with the arrows. It's that I when I dig to the right, I go to the right. That doesn't make sense for a digging game where it was supposed to go down.
40:07That was part of the original idea was that playing right now.
40:10If there would be No, I dug all the way to the bottom basically and just gave up.
40:14I'm way down there. trying to actually play.
40:17Okay. Accuracy meter doesn't work.
40:20So, so, so, so the the original idea was that you press the arrows that are coming and then each one of those would give you a strength of how hard you get to hit and then you could choose your direction because there could be like rock and rock would take like 10 hits. So, you'd want to go around the rock. Obviously, a pretty difficult game. Lots of arrow keys going on at that point.
40:40And so, I decided just to go straight down. It didn't listen to my straight down instructions. instead. This is what we got. Like I said, didn't have time. This is where we got to.
40:47Yeah, I did figure out.
40:48You were saying last week you were all tilted at me that I had to fly back to San Francisco cuz you were so ready for a digging game.
40:55I exaggerated real real bad. [laughter] Real real bad.
41:00Oh, I exaggerated very very much. So, I'm still laughing and I'm hitting all the all the dang arrows.
41:08I'll show my I'll show my game.
41:10Oh, you made TJ. You made two games.
41:13Yeah, he made an actual digging game apparently, right?
41:18I don't know how you're going to top that one though, good luck. I mean, you know, trash, [laughter] you share again and you can show it. We'll see how it works. This one is way rougher cuz it's a much more ambitious project, but it does actually do some stuff and you'll love the concept of it.
41:34All right, where is Can you Can someone share screen?
41:37Yeah, Trish is going to share his screen screen again. He's the right I don't think so. It has music again, but I don't think I added a audio slider. I didn't think about you have to share in Riverside and stuff.
41:48Uh, I can't read any of this. It's too small.
41:53It says new game, load game, import options, gravel empire, new game.
41:59So, it's it's roller coaster tycoon but for digging.
42:03Oh, so um so trash, you can hit new game.
42:08All of the stuff's kind of it's too small for probably the size of screen here. It didn't implement probably the right kind of zooming looks good on my screen screen, etc. But so trash, you can start hiring people. So you go to hire, you get workers to come in, right?
42:21So then they then you start digging and it's a big gravel pit and you're trying to basically build an empire to do as much gravel things as you can. Here you're digging. I made an actual digging game. Like it's about digging as well, right? You know what I mean? So then trash, you've got your workers, [clears throat] right?
42:39Okay. And then in the in the top right up there, there's a little um the dig like the dig icon. Yeah, that guy right there. You can start planning out the spots that you want dug, how deep you want it to be, etc. Then these guys will come over there and then they'll start digging them or maybe not if I didn't uh if I pushed a broken version then. Yeah. Yeah. So, I'm Yeah, there you go. That's that's a very deep That's a very deep. I think you need to build a road out to them, trash.
43:07It's it's roller coaster tycoon. You can't walk without getting can't walk on grass dig site, right?
43:14How much money do you have? How come you can just build all this so easily?
43:18Uh, it's in your it's in your bottom left.
43:20Okay, now what? I made a road to it.
43:22Can't they get to it?
43:23You did not take a road to that all.
43:25Trash. It's 3D. That's down, dude.
43:27You're You have to go to the like the little dry things on the top. Come on, trash.
43:31I've never played Roller Coaster Tycoon.
43:33Yeah, but you know how 3D works.
43:35[laughter] Make the road like make the road go to the tile that it's on. Do more road. But can I can I just uh move this over?
43:45Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Tell them to dig somewhere else then or make more foot paths.
43:51No, no, no, no, no, no. Trash the top the the [laughter] Okay, this is good user FEEDBACK. I'M TILTED. I'M TILTED. I'M SO tilted right now.
43:59I got it. I got it. I got it.
44:01I don't know if they can dig. I think I made it though so they can't dig uh that deep right away. Trash, you got to start like them with a small a small dig.
44:09Yeah, they have to build to it, right?
44:10Unless I messed it up.
44:11They probably can't even do four meters.
44:13Why would you dig on the road, Trash?
44:16I just I just want to see them make it to it.
44:17One meter. Do one meter.
44:20Yeah, maybe you should share screen.
44:22Yeah, this makes no sense. Okay, now what?
44:25I thought they would dig when I was testing them. They dig now. So, can I not remove these?
44:32Uh, they're hired. No, those are the people that you're hired.
44:35No, I'm talking about the Maybe you need to put them in a crew. Trash. Try put them in a crew.
44:41I'll check I'll check myself here. I'll check myself as well.
44:45Pick up pick them up and put them down somewhere else. I do that.
44:49All right. I I I am I I'm building.
44:51Oh, there we go. There we go. I got it.
44:52They're doing it right.
44:54I have to pick them up.
44:55Oh, nice. See, they got the same roller coaster tycoon situation here. They're not digging though. Is it the wrong time of the day? They're only supposed to work during certain times of the day, too. [laughter] You also Okay, this is way too com Okay, so trash. It won't necessarily work right now, but see the little house icon next to the next to the road.
45:18There's like you can start building buildings and machines and Oh, you have to give them Do any of them have shovels yet? Trash. I don't think we gave any of them shovels [laughter] yet.
45:28What is happening? Okay. Uh, how do I do It's a building game.
45:33How do I give him a shovel?
45:35I TJ, this is fantastic. I love I love the art style.
45:39Thanks. I I need I needed one more day to to do this since I started this at uh 10:00 a.m. my time, which is 3 hours before standup start.
45:48Oh, you can fire people.
45:49I don't know how to make them start, though.
45:52I don't know how to give him a shovel.
45:55I'll I'll set this up for next week, guys. I'll set this up for next week. I needed I needed just a little more time. I needed a little more time. All right. Anyways, on potential though, I feel like I get one potential grading, too. This is roller coaster.
46:08This is pretty good. I mean, digging.
46:09I like how it looks in general.
46:14Talk to us. What do you think about this?
46:16This I'm not going to lie to you guys. This was This is pretty rough.
46:21[laughter] Uh, [snorts] I guess what I'd say is, um, the only the only game that feels like it could potentially be a game, meaning like as it is as it is as presented, not potential. So, a fact that for temporary uh trash is pitching game, but only because the genre of that game is that it's incredibly janky. Like the whole
46:49genre of quap games is that they don't really work. And so I'm not even really sure that's fair because, you know, that's quap is kind of what you would get if you didn't finish the game code, right? That's what quap is sort of intentionally. It's like here's we didn't actually, you know, make it into a standard polish game. We just hooked up, you know, these things directly to springs on the legs and good luck, right?
47:13Um, so I guess what I would say is I don't know. Like I don't feel like there's a way to really rank anything in this case. Um obviously Tee had the best uh if we if we gave out an award for narrative.
47:31Uh I think it was a good narrative. It was a good narrative.
47:35Clearly goes to Tee uh for his um trash parody.
47:42I just But other than that, I'm not sure. I would say uh if we went with potential I'm afraid much to all of your Sorry, what?
47:52I actually I forgot. I have loaded scenarios that are halfway through the game. Can Trash reload and show where my game is in a scenario instead?
48:01Cuz Tracy, Casey, I got something cool going on in the middle of the game that will explain what it actually is. I want that's actually part of the game.
48:09Okay, I need one more shot. Trash reload and then go to scenarios.
48:14Travel Empire, of course. Because I think um I'm gonna pull ahead a little bit maybe after this.
48:20Oh, yeah. Thank you. I'll add audio.
48:23You do know that you're going against like my game, right? Like what are you pulling ahead of? [laughter] I want to see what I my vision for the game of what I set out to do. Okay. Trash. There's scenarios which Okay, we need to change the font size of this game, too. And then just click the bottom one. Bottom play button.
48:39The bottom one. Okay.
48:40Yeah. There you go. Okay. This is more where you're supposed to get to. Okay.
48:45Just as uh you get cranes, they fill up dump trucks, you're automating more. It's building a factory inside of the gravel pit as you're digging down. I just just at least show where the game's supposed to get to. Uh before we get the rating, you know, those two trucks just drove through each other. Oh my gosh, that truck just pulled right into him.
49:05There's They can do that in Roller Coaster Tycoon.
49:09Actually, they don't do that. I'll add CL. Sorry. Anyways, continue. What I was going to say is uh on the on the potential front uh I I know everyone is going to be like what? But like honestly, if if Prime had actually made a game where like so two things, if you took the game that you had there and it wor and it worked at all, which it didn't, right? But let's imagine that you actually did have to
49:34hit the the DDR steps, right? Yeah. Um, and and you did a couple obvious things that you would want to do, like for example, put the don't put the steps on the left. Put them under your character. Like this is kind of just like game 101.
49:52Yeah, I know. I know. I like I said, it was a rough Okay. It was my idea. It was my idea that was So, if you did if you did some of those things, that actually seemed like the most promising game to me. Like, if you're like, which one of these would you play? Like, I would play that game.
50:04I probably wouldn't play any of these other I don't like quap games. So again, I said I'm kind of the wrong judge for that. Maybe that baseball game's really good. Uh we'll let Prime be the judge of that because he, you know, he clearly clearly is the uh perfect judge of a quap game. So he will give he will give it his thumbs up or thumbs down after 17 hours of play starting now.
50:25After I have missed several videos next week, I will be glad.
50:28So he will he will judge that one. I I unfortunately can't. Maybe it's excellent. So, I'm not saying it's I'm not saying it's not. I just I couldn't tell you. Uh I didn't like Quap, so you know, I'm the wrong person. Uh the the Digging Tycoon game, unfortunately, just like I don't know like I mean Sim games are sim games. Maybe if you like I don't see where the like interesting part of it is that makes it so like I'm going to want to play that. It kind of it's like it's a it's one of those orgy games where there's like 18,000 windows.
50:57Sometimes those come together. Uh you know, it's unlikely that it would. uh you know maybe the AI is really good at figuring out how to put those together, maybe it's not. I don't know. So I I wouldn't give that high odds, but I would have to actually like see the finished thing and see if it actually feels good to like organize and does that actually, you know, because that's all that that's what differentiates those games. Um so yeah, I I uh I unfortunately I apologize to everyone, but I'm going to have to give it to
51:25Prime, [laughter] which I would also say looked the worst. Like it looks absolutely horrible. I don't know what is going on here.
51:36I don't know how to make it. Okay. I don't know how well things poison the well with the potential talk at the beginning.
51:42He did. He did. He swerved it all around.
51:46I I would just like to throw out there jury. You led the jury.
51:50I did. I did. But but it wasn't. But it's still Casey. He still gets to make his own decisions. Okay. Unless if you're saying that Casey can't make his own decisions, trash, which I know you're not. Uh [laughter] okay. First off, I just want to throw out there that I made up that game idea while watching Sophie Tucker live at Red Rocks.
52:06That was pretty good. Got to see it for my birthday.
52:08Got to see it for my birthday. A lot of fun. Uh and then uh number two, it could have been a good game. You know, if I would have actually had some time to set aside, I think I could have made it pretty good cuz I did. The only thing I tried on was the networking and that actually was pretty good. Like I watched you Casey next to me and it is all like time tracked. does like time differentials and so we actually are all listening to the same song at the same moments. All the arrows are in sync so everyone should have been digging in sync but uh screwed it up. In my defense
52:35also I would point out that I think that judging things on their potential like these are all these are all vibecoded games and the whole point of of the AI hype cycle is to talk about potential, right? Like no no one's talking about what we have. We're talking about what we might have. And so I think it is perfectly in line with the spirit of of of vibe coding to just say like, well, maybe someday this will be.
53:02But think about this, Casey. If we would have taken my digging game.
53:06If I would have like just got some off-the-shelf assets, did very little work, or even try to do be better at creating assets, I could have created a demo where I zoom in on the guy, put on TJ, [laughter] just listen for a second. We could have zoomed in on the guy, the beats, the digging. Things look super good. Go over to TJ's gravel one. It could have looked so good as a demo.
53:28Like the demo would have been out of control. Like if TJ made a demo video, it would have been so hard not to say like, "This game is amazing." And so this is a This is really what demo videos look like when you play them. Okay, this is just what's happening right now.
53:42Well, why don't you guys do that? Why?
53:44Why? Post to your after this post to your Twitter feed like I spent $5 on tokens that I made something 10 times better than Roller Coaster Tycoon. Just show little like snippets of the thing.
53:55I would never burmer Roller Coaster Tycoon like that.
53:58I would never do that.
54:00But I would say inspired by.
54:04All right. There you go.
54:06Thanks for the win. I knew I'd win. I knew I had a great idea. [laughter] All right. I I knew my idea was actually good. Hey guys, if you like this episode, you can watch the rest of it on the Spotify. And don't forget to like and subscribe. Woo! See you later.
54:19Boot up today. [singing] Five [music] errors on my screen. Terinal [singing] coffee and living the dream.
