0:00I did not realize that like Pokemon cards are unpurchasable. Like like no one explained this to me because because of course why you know I mean I don't have any occasion to buy them. So like I go to the supermarket and I go up to that machine which I'm assuming like you could just scroll through and pick some Pokemon cards. It's like everything just says sold out. It's like they they should just put a giant thing that says everything is sold out because they don't they list individual items and each one says sold out for no like you can scroll as long as you want. There's
0:29nothing there, right?
0:36So, Casey, this is the trick with those machines. This is why it says no loitering.
0:39Basically, they they reset every 30 to 1 hour. Okay.
0:44You stand in front of the machine or to the side because there's a camera and then like when it hits so people get the timings down and they show up like every like two minutes after the hour every hour and then it will drop and then they'll buy it all and then it only it only drops so many and then it resets and you got to wait again and that's where people start fighting because someone will come up and tap the machine and then ruin the whole thing.
1:09So that's that was my confusion because Casey just said he went up to a machine and didn't say anything about getting in a fist fight. So I'm like what is like what did he do? Like cuz I was at the wrong time.
1:20Clearly I was not in the time slot where anything was going to drop. So I was fine. I didn't geted and also look at did Casey come home with any cards? I don't think so. So there you go.
1:30They were probably watching him from the milk aisle or something. They're like look at this dummy watching. They're probably like, "Hey, that's Casey. That's the guy who's making fun of trash about his Pokemon card. I got cards for Yeah.
1:43What a hypocrite. Now he's off buying cards." [ __ ] Check this out.
1:47Okay, I'm ready. I'm ready.
1:51So, these things just dropped. It's the 30th anniversary Pokemon set.
1:57I got four more coming in the mail.
2:00OKAY. SO, CASEY, that's why you can't get one. Just in case. They're I know they're all behind trash. It is It is in the photo frame. That's what That's where they all are.
2:11Trash, when are you going to get a like how much longer will it take before that entire wall you have to clear out everything and you just stack Pokemon card boxes from C?
2:21I'm at that point. I I'm already like trying to figure out what I'm doing next cuz I'm out of room. I got like a whole box of like cards right here that are just there's like 30 boxes in there. I don't I don't even know. I don't know. these little graded like the graded display case. It says like 8.7 at the top.
2:45Also, shout out uh Big C. Big Z. She ordered me donuts this morning.
2:51No, no buckwheat shots today.
2:54Oh, let me go get them. Go get them.
2:57I went and got some of those crispy creams and they were pretty tasty. The the Pokemon ones. They were pretty good.
3:03Really? Yeah. I mean they're Go ahead.
3:06I was say they're super I mean they are there is not a single actual real ingredient in these donuts. I mean they are one they are a single polymer created by some magic of chemistry. But they're pretty tasty.
3:20I do have to say these are like for the value.
3:25They're like your these are your fancy West West LA donuts.
3:31I love how you just said for the value, TJ. I never want to be buying donuts. Like you're talking about the difference between like 50 cents versus like a $1.25 a donut and you're like it's for the value we buy crispy creams that are made from space age technology and polymers and you know molecules one removed from Lego plastic.
3:50Hey, welcome to the permanent underclass pal. Like we're all going to be buying crispy cream donuts soon. Ain't going to be no fancy LA.
3:56Every penny I have is dedicated to tokens besides my crispy cream budget. Okay. So it makes a huge difference. Okay. I don't want to get left behind here.
4:04All right. I have my kids Trump accounts tokens. Like that's it. That's all I have for my budget.
4:12Mr. Michael Dell's putting money in in those accounts. Straight transferred that into my Crispy Cream budget.
4:18Obviously, by Trump by Trump savings account, you mean donut savings account?
4:24My donut savings account. Exactly.
4:26Mhm. Have you ever deployed to production and everything is green and awesome? But when you go to the website, oh my gosh, IT'S A 500. WELL, DON'T worry because Linear has your back. See, when that 500 hits, your air reporting can create a linear ticket, which will kick off a linear loop. So, honestly, why spend 30, 40, 50 minutes of your time searching around with these production bugs when you can get automated pull requests to get you started with the correct fix? And just like that, a pull request issue is
4:54created and patch received, error fixed, and production is all good now. So check out linear today and actually save real time. The ad is the linear engine. So for those that don't know, we do have a couple things we have to do today and I am pretty dang excited about today. Okay. Um you you said have to do. That doesn't sound excited. That sounds like you're you're dreading it. I talk about that with my kids.
5:22Get to do. Can't wait to do home.
5:26Okay. But but sometimes have you ever said something along the lines of like like I have to do this. Not because you are like I am forced to but because like all of your desire and and and the construct of free will and society in you are forcing you down this path. Kind of like Dante watching the people hopelessly walk into hell to their appropriate ring because they don't even have a choice in it. Their own desires and everything bring them to where they are for us.
5:54How does that make the stand up?
5:56We are being brought forth to the greatest blocker this year.
6:01Brought to you by none other than Casey Miratori.
6:04Legendary blocker by the way.
6:06Legendary blocker Casey Mirator. Today we actually have a blocker and it is about this right here. So Casey, this is an Opus 5.5, right?
6:18Okay, I know what this is about. So I will try to set the stage here.
6:23Uh and and this is really it's it's entirely up to you guys. You guys are going to have to explain it because I don't know.
6:29You guys were like, uh, okay, we're going to do like, you know, we're gonna make games. We're gonna make vibecoded games and then you you're gonna play them and see what you think, right?
6:38Yeah. But there's been all this traffic on the Discord from trash where he's like none of it's working. It's not fun or it's bad or whatever. Like he's saying all this stuff and I'm like I thought the point was you just put in the prompt like you know make me you know Minecraft but better and then it makes it for you, right? So I'm like what is the problem? this particular I I picked this tweet at random because just the latest one that I saw of someone saying that they just typed in make Minecraft or whatever
7:07and so so what's going on? Like why why what's the problem?
7:13IS IT SKILLS? DID YOU GUYS JUST NOT know how to use AI? Like what's the problem here guys?
7:16That's a good question.
7:18I I do want to at least that this is this does look really good. Like just this presentation I understand why people get AI psychosis. Like looking at this presentation this looks you have AI psychosis. What do you mean?
7:29Uh, what do you why people have it?
7:32I think I have very realistic AI expectations here, DJ.
7:37Okay. Everyone else has AI psychosis.
7:42I do not have expectations.
7:45Yeah. Anyways, TJ, how's that language you're coming up with? Anyway, sorry.
7:50I say I have psychosis. I'm I'm I'm agreeing with I will say this for like these demos you notice it's only like 5 to 10 seconds Mhm.
7:59I would say that if I like wanted to mimic a game that existed already and I say Minecraft. I also think there's probably a lot of open source stuff it could probably take from too.
8:09I could probably arrive at this demo fairly easily.
8:13I bet you you know like there's only one functional part of this demo which is him putting some blocks on and something like 2 seconds. I bet you beyond that it just doesn't [ __ ] work at all. Like if I had to guess.
8:23Okay, that's my guess.
8:25But like to make like very aesthetic looking things from like a glance, I think that's fairly easy to do. But the functional part is where it kind of falls apart if that makes sense. I don't know if TJ if you had that same experience with like your Yeah, I would say the other thing is trash, you touched on it, but we should uh just expand a little more. There's already a million open source Minecraft voxil game engine projects that are in the training data that are like cool I made Minecraft but ray tracing and
8:53you're like oh okay so for all we know the implementation could be download the GitHub repo open Minecraft you know and then put put this in so I would say for certain like genres of games especially like I don't know the most popular game of all time um like there's a decent chance that it's going to be able to pull pull off some really nice looking like demo stuff
9:20there. Um, as Trash is saying, you sometimes then find very difficult uh like why is it that crafting can't work or like as soon as I enter this biome it crashes? You know, there's just like stuff that happens like in post after this. I would I would guess it happens less on the Minecraft ones just because of the like vast amount of times where we've already done this. We've built this one. People have like entire YouTube series of let's build Minecraft
9:49from scratch and see or something, you know? It's like it's not uh it's not unreasonable to have this happen. Also, it's kind of like I don't know like Minecraft is awesome. I like the game, but there's also like it's a it's a voxil game where a bunch of stuff works easily because it all fits in blocks, right? It's like actually easier to write than like some other um some other versions. The genius of Notch, right, is he figured out a really smart game.
10:17Yeah. Okay. Gotcha. Uh I also want to throw out there uh what Trash said which is the the hardest part of everything is that even if you could say generate any game as beautiful as the game we were just looking at which is the thing that I find to be the hardest part about game development is uh making it fun. Yeah.
10:37Like making a good game that you actually want. Like it's really easy to take a game that has been worked on by literally tens of thousands of people for the last 20 years and be like look it's a fun game. Yeah. Yeah. That's that's tr true. Very true and very obvious.
10:51But like coming up with your own idea and then making it fun is so hard. It's like astronomically hard.
10:59I would say like, you know, it's impressive how many people these days can take great ideas and turn them into bad ones. Like I mean, Rings of Power, am I right? Chat, anybody out there?
11:12Used to watch that show.
11:13They have It's like Amazon has the reverse power. They take the most popular things and figure out how to make everyone universally hate it. So yes, it's the it's called the inverse Midas touch or the Kramer touch.
11:24Yeah. Anyway, so there you go. That's what's going on. It's it's just really cool because nothing gets you updes more than showing something off on Twitter, especially during model release time. So due to the fact that 55, Opus 55 just got released, Grock 47 just got released, uh what is it? Soul 6, all these. So now you have this thing where everyone's rushes to get out example game and then a bunch of people who've had access to the model early all come out with like even more prepared demos
11:53and it's just visual porn for the next, you know, game demo porn for the next like week and a half.
11:58Okay, that's our life. It's perpetual.
12:01Okay, that's like the new benchmark, right?
12:03Everyone's just like, "Look, I've put the same prop. This is the same game side by side." Like my whole timeline is literally that which kind of ruined it for me.
12:13I'm like I don't want to make a game anymore. This is stupid.
12:16Trash actually didn't prepare one for today. He doesn't have anything. I think I think the big thing that really what this is showing is that models are getting really really good at remembering what they have already like stolen from the internet. like that to me like this is like a really excellent uh like qualifier for how good it is at recalling things that already exist which we should say by the way is like pretty valuable like for for regular programming tasks cuz it turns out
12:46I haven't worked on a lot of novel problems in my programming career like I actually don't like if like they if they them getting better at this is actually good for us it shouldn't be like oh that sucks if they get like perfect recall on every best implementation of an algorithm ever or every best practice for how to do pageionation for complicated cross joins in a database or something. That's actually good. Like it's actually helpful because then they're going to pull back the best answer instead of a garbage tier one.
13:15I I literally say that every time I'm at work, we have a problem and I'm like, well, we can't be the first ones that have this problem. Go look on the internet. Like someone solved this before and like like pre pre AI, we would just go stack overflow or some forums. Now we can just RIP too soon.
13:32Is it like Is it gone gone? Like for real? For real?
13:35Well, it's down to like I think it's down to like 10 questions are asked a day.
13:38I think it's still there.
13:40It's not like It's not like the site is down.
13:42Okay. I thought they took it down cuz there's just nothing happening there.
13:46I think they left it.
13:48They just finally gave up. They're just like, "You know what? Pack it up, boys. It's not even worth it having it up anymore."
13:53How much is this yearly domain? Like just not worth it. Oh, I'm sure they're running off a $5 VPS at this point.
13:59They scaled down. Yeah.
14:01Is it Is it too soon to make a Stack Underflow joke or do we already do that?
14:07I don't think I've ever heard that's not already a site we need to buy that domain.
14:10It's definitely already purchased.
14:12That would be great.
14:14One one would think. Now, would they?
14:16All right. Well, that was the side topic, which by the way, that got me so juiced because I was so curious what Casey actually had to say about it. So, we'll move this one into done. Good job everybody.
14:26I think we all did a great job here. And so now we got to go to some digging games. Now I do want to be honest here.
14:33Uh I think that that we're going to have a lot of disappointment except from except from from TJ. I'm sure TJ has an excellent one. But I can tell you this much. I have not put in the work that was needed to even get my not very good.
14:51Okay. But la last time you showed a game where the rain was like going up and down in a sine wave. So So anything like even if you just showed something where the rain just went down that would be a big improvement in you you would get most you would win most improved for me certainly at that point.
15:10Well thank you. Uh well Casey the nice part is you are the judge. So I do think that what you need to judge okay obviously is not necessarily like how complete the games are. Great point. Great point. Yeah, that's true.
15:23How how fun could they be? Like if if we actually sat down and took a lot of effort and and you and you went into it and, you know, a powerups, whatever are added to the game to make it more, you know, convincing, but it's what has the in the rough that's mostly rough.
15:41Can I say prime? I feel like this is a this feels like leading the leading the jury or leading the witnesses, whatever it's called. like, "Hey, well, what we really want to judge on, I mean, is the potential of the game, not what's there.
15:57I don't think that's fair."
15:58TJ, you're absolutely right that this is leading the witness, but I would like to say I'm both judge, jury, and executioner, and so I don't care.
16:07I feel like uh this is so so you're saying this is like little little Jimmy who who's not he has not excelled in school. He's got his finger in his nose. We're like sitting with the teacher at at parent teacher conference and and it's like but he has potential.
16:22That's what you're you're looking for like like he could go on to bigger things, you know?
16:26Prime thinks of himself more as like a goodwill hunting style character.
16:30Oh, so which one is the janitor that's going to solve equations, right? That's Prime. It's like he's writing the equation on the board and like he could have an illustrious career in mathematics, but like he's been busy this week, right? Unfortunately, I was actually writing the equations on the board, but then I had janitorial service to do, so I actually couldn't follow through. You know, it's like you can only do so much.
16:54You had to go get a a girl's number at a at a restaurant. I can't remember what happens with that. He like at a bar. He's like, "I got a number." He says like, "I got a number."
17:05I do remember him saying that. I got a number.
17:08How do you like them apples? I got a number. Something like that. Yeah, that's Boston. Those are the Boston accents. You guys like that whole movie is Boston accent.
17:16Did you say with a Boston accent?
17:18It's a bunch of fcking. You know, there's a lot of facking going on. It was very hard to understand what was what was going on there.
17:25Anyway. Okay. So, how am I supposed to judge these games? You guys going to show me some demos here or I think Trash probably needs to whisper us inside of our Discord.
17:35The where to go for the URLs just so we don't get absolutely bombarded.
17:39Okay. by chat and then we then I will change the scene and bring it up and we can all bring it up.
17:44So I have things I need to say before I love that. That's a great start.
17:51I see TJ I'm not the only one. TJ, by the way, you're also allowed to have a preamble.
17:55No, no, but the funny thing is is I've been working hard for like two weeks. Okay, but this is what I this is all I have to show. I pivoted I pivoted yesterday. Um so I'm going to show you a number of things. I'm going to show you my original ideas.
18:10Okay, great. I love this.
18:12Okay, I like this. This is good.
18:13And then we're going to show you what I pivoted to last night.
18:16And then what has just deployed like 5 minutes ago.
18:19So, we'll see if that works.
18:21And then I actually have a game that I'm going to launch today that I think everyone's going to enjoy, especially you, Prime.
18:26Um, based on this game you've been playing for a long long long time.
18:29But this is not a pivot. This one's not the pivot.
18:32This is not pivot. This is This is my add making a bunch of random things at this point. Okay, makes sense. Okay, so here's the first one.
18:40Yeah, let's walk through specifically because that that will help me. Trash.
18:43So, the first one I'm going to share was supposed to be multiplayer for all of us.
18:47Okay, I tested it for the first time last night with some friends and boy oh boy, that thing was lag city. So, I will say this is just there's no way you all are going to we're going to be able to play together.
19:00That's another one where a game four of us.
19:03That's really funny though. where a game looks good for multiplayer.
19:07Okay, so let me go ahead. I thought Cloud Flare like worked out of the box. I don't know. So something happeneding with Cloudfare. I was using Party Kit and things just went all right. We were trying to play and it was just not good.
19:19So So this is the first thing I sent you. This is I was trying to make like a I was trying to be nostalgic. You remember like being in computer lab in school? You had like a flash game website. You can kind of just pick random games just to kind of kill time in class. Um, so I was going to make something like that. So I sent it in the Discord.
19:37So we can't play multiplayer because I tried to do that. It's just too laggy. It does work. Okay.
19:42By the way, it's just it's just it's too laggy. Like I even had like a room code and it wouldn't even show it on the on the page cuz I don't want other people to join. It turns out we just can't even play. So that's fine. That's fine. So I have all these random games here. So it started off with like digging and then I was like digging and I was like well I don't know. That's kind of boring. So, like in the spirit of digging, I had something like a backyard pool where you can Wait, can we pause, Trish? You made us build digging games and then you decided it was too boring.
20:10No, no, I have a digging game. It's just not on this platform. Don't worry, I have lots.
20:17That is how Minecraft got started, guys.
20:19Okay, so don't don't knock it. Like, you might trash might just have act like accidentally handed you the keys to the next $2 billion buyout from Microsoft.
20:29True, true, true. I'll just show you how my brain has evolved over the past two weeks. Okay, so I started off with like a really simple sandbox. I was like, "Well, sandbox is kind of boring." So then I was like, "Okay, what about like water?" So you can go in here, you shake it, you can throw How are you How are you lowering the How are you lowering the bucket?
20:45Do you push the mouse? You push the You just click with the mouse. That's it. It's literally That does not happen on my machine. If I click the mouse, nothing happens on my machine.
20:52You have to You have to You have to sit start playing in the top left.
20:55Start playing. There's no There's no start playing in the top left. Just says connect. Are you in practice? No. Go to practice. Go to practice.
21:02I can't go to practice. It's It doesn't let me click on that. It just says fresh. I'm in. I'm in.
21:07You got to refresh the page. Refresh the page.
21:10I'm in. It works for me. It works for me.
21:13I love the f I love the FPS counter for a single bucket of water.
21:20No, but every time I refresh the page, it goes back Every time I refresh the page, it goes back to friends. It won't let me click on anything else. I I Dude, I'm I'm watering.
21:32Are you watering right now? Okay.
21:34Why is the bucket not going to the side?
21:37It is going to go here.
21:40I had to click leave room. That's what happened.
21:42Look at this. It just remains.
21:43Oh, you mean why is it not tipping over?
21:45Why is it not tipping over when you move it?
21:48Well, I mean, how do I know that I'm getting water in You literally see it fill up. So, like the more you move it side to side, the faster it will actually fill up.
21:58Hey Trash, can you tell me why the uh why the size of the bucket is 241.2 milliliters?
22:06Oh man, that was the bugging code.
22:09It's not even a full liter. I'm not even doing a full liter at a time.
22:14Okay. Okay. Well, okay. You get the point. So that's the first one.
22:17Shake it back and forth. I don't think that actually increases speed.
22:20It does. I'm telling you. I'm telling you it does. I'm telling you. So see, but you can also use a sponge. Look, you can do a sponge and you like fill up the sponge with water and you squeeze it.
22:29Well, how do you get a sponge? Start playing.
22:31Yeah. How do you get the sponge?
22:32So, you can go to Yeah. So, if you go to like you can do if you there's like a reset button in the top right and then it'll let you choose your tools. If you look at my screen, I'm not Yep, I got it. I'm setting the sponge.
22:46You see it? You see it? You see it?
22:48Read the buttons. Read the buttons.
22:50You just squeeze it. So, you just push and hold just like the bucket.
22:54All right. Okay, squeezy squeezy. And then you uncclick and then you just un So it's just like a like little various tools that will take longer to do things. I was like, "Okay, well I don't know if I want to do that anymore."
23:06So then I was like, "What other games?
23:07How are you going to make strategy here?"
23:10Well, I mean, the strategy is basically how fast can you be effectively. And then so I was like, "Okay, let's make it a little bit harder."
23:15Starcraft APM. You already won Star Warcraft APM. I know this is going Yeah. So I was like, "Let's make it slightly harder." Um, so I was like, "I don't know. I'm Asian. I like chopsticks, right? That makes sense.
23:26So, I had a chopstick game and you I like chopsticks. Just throwing that out there.
23:32I don't know why I said that to me.
23:34It just po it just popped in my head. This literally that was my thought process. Um, so I have this kitchen prep game.
23:41I don't think that's true.
23:43I don't think that's true.
23:44I don't think Russia's known for chopsticks. Anyways, I I I do love them. So, I made this kitchen prep game and I was like, "Okay, let's let's see how fast we can like empty out like a a platter. Originally, it was like sushi or something, right?
24:00So, you can throw these things. So, it's like basically you're racing to see who can clear it out.
24:05So, it's like So, this one takes a little bit more skill, right? You have to be more accurate, right? That makes sense. So, you get that.
24:1232 vegetables removed.
24:15So, I was like, uh I was like, okay, well, maybe we can go like a little bit further. Maybe we can do LIKE AN EXCAVATOR.
24:20WHOA. OKAY. SO LIKE AN excavator and you can go here, you can dig and you can like pour it out, right? So it's the same same concept, right? All these are the same concept of you having to clear something within a time limit. So there's different time limits or you can go all the way box.
24:35Okay. I like So excavator was cool. And I was like, okay, well, you know, that's not something you can play with a lot, right? That was pretty good. I was like, well, that's pretty good.
24:43I'm kind of I was like, okay, I'm kind of tired of digging. Let's like do something that's more like friendlop. So then I made like a dung beetle game and you can basically race to collect poop and you put it in your your little thing here and you can go to other people's things and you can steal you can steal their poop too. So just like this like where like my my start going with the friends friend slap stuff so you can battle right I can't steal his poop he can like boot me or whatever but the idea is who can collect the most poop or whatever. I was like okay. So this is like where I was kind of like pushing the models a little bit. I was like
25:12let's try this. And this is where the multiplayer came in. So when I tried to play this it was just super laggy. We just couldn't even I love that the beetles walk backwards. They go butt first. I love the butt first.
25:22They're dumb beetles. That's what they do, right? When they have poop, they go backwards.
25:27I don't know. That's a good question.
25:29But they're going backwards even when they don't have poop, though.
25:32If they don't have poop, they walk normal like this.
25:35I don't know why the computers are walking backwards. These are all computers.
25:37Okay. I was going to say the ones I'm watching are going backwards all the time. Okay.
25:41They know something.
25:43I think they know something I don't know. I was like, okay. So now we like now we're getting now my mind's getting into the multiplayer stuff and I was like, "Okay, we can probably get a little bit harder. That takes a little bit more skill." That wasn't too bad. So I was like, "Okay, let's like do a tow truck game." So here you have to actually use like WD back up and actually like Oh gosh, I'm not very good at that.
26:02That's actually kind of a nice aesthetic trash. I'm not going to lie. This is a nice aesthetic. It reminds me of the traffic jam game where you move the cars around to try like set up the different puzzles. You know what I'm saying? You know the game. Oh man, that car is getting by. Where is it? Where's the not picking up the car?
26:20You have to bump into it first like a real tow truck. Okay.
26:23Yeah. See, see this? So, this is where it starts to get harder, right? Like this is actually to the side.
26:29This is actually super hard to do. And I was like, "Okay, let's see what else we can do." So, this is like This is just This is me evolving over time.
26:37Right. Right. We're seeing your skills.
26:40This is good though, Trash. This is good. I know slowly getting better, but why like was it that you didn't think that you could do more with this game? Like it seems like you stopped before seeing if there was a game here though in a lot of these.
26:58Well, I cuz like for these it's like my kind of goal was how long could I see myself actually playing this game before I just forget about it.
27:07But how would you know? Like clearly you could make a game about towing cars. I mean true. Yeah.
27:12Yeah. Yeah. I think so too. But I think ultimately like my where I went was I was trying to like I said in the beginning I was trying to make like a site of a bunch of mini games.
27:21Where you can kind of just pick something, kill some time and then go do some.
27:24Okay. So they that was kind of like the idea. It's like like let me get a quick fiveminute gaming session in effectively.
27:29So that's like basically where this whole site is. That's why there's so many different modes, right? So we have like this one.
27:34If you ever play like Karate Kid, there was like you could catch chopsticks way back in the day.
27:39Nice. So, this is kind of like the modern version. So, you can you can catch little flies and throw them in your bowl and like like there's gold flies. The gold flies are like worth more and it's pretty it's honestly it's kind of hard to do.
27:49So, this is like where like you would have friends kind of not helping there.
27:54UH CAMERAS. IT'S NOT PERFECT. It's not perfect. Okay.
27:58Yeah. Yeah. No, but you see where I'm going with this. I was like, okay, cuz I'm trying to figure out games that would be harder that would make people want to play against each other. So it's like I need to keep like stepping There has to be an element of skill that makes it fun and an element of luck that makes it so that even when someone's not as good, they can still win sometimes.
28:16Exactly. And that's where my surprise game comes in later, which you will see.
28:19Oh, okay. Oh, I like this.
28:21Um, so the rest of these like honestly there's not they're not too difficult. Like I made again this is me kind of just testing the LM to see what they could do. You can basically be a goose and just like collect stuff and go against your friends to see how fast you can collect like I sneeze.
28:35Woo. Um, basically just see how see see how fast you can click a picnic or a picnic blanket or whatever. So like again these don't really have like too much depth. It's just like I was kind of just curious cuz Astra just came out. So I was really curious like what it could do. And what I figured out was it was good at modeling but not so much the code. So what ended up happening?
28:53I was going to say that kind of looks like it it looks like the code's very janky but the the modeling is like you've asked it to produce all these things and it did some you know it like it did a wide variety. They're kind of in the same style, but I assume that was a request of yours, right? Because you want the site to look right, you know, so that's uh that's desirable, right?
29:14I think my computer's dying because of this website.
29:19Gary Tan's cable. You're going to burn out Gary Tan's cable.
29:24Oh my god. Am I back? Oh my god. That website.
29:29Okay, that website literally just killed me. That's awesome.
29:31I think I think there's too much there's too much 3JS going on. Hold on. Let me share again.
29:36It's Tan's revenge. It's Tan's revenge.
29:38Dude, Casey, as an expert, as a legendary game programmer, when you see this many models take down a website, what do you feel on the inside?
29:46I mean, I to be honest though, I I don't necessarily feel anything on the inside because it's been known for so long how bad the like web handling of this stuff is. It's like you go to a 3D site and all of a sudden all the fans spin up for no reason. Like, what is going on? I I don't know that that's it might be I'm sure part of it's the AI's fault, but a large part of it is just the platform being bad, right? And it's the training data, you know. So, I don't know.
30:11It's the training data because unfortunately people made bad sites beforehand.
30:14Yeah. Yeah. I I don't I don't blame the AIS for things that I've seen happen plenty of times before. Right. Uh Okay. This is the one. This is the one where I pivoted last night.
30:26Um because I felt bad that I didn't have a digging game and then we were talking in Slack or on Discord yesterday that we should have a digging game. So I started painting.
30:34Although for the last two weeks we're like dude trash digging game here it comes trash and trash is like so I pivoted last night to make a dig digging game.
30:41I do need to I do need to understand what was the digging game you were speaking of two weeks ago. Was it the platform that you built or something that you're not going to show us?
30:52So, the idea would have been So, you know how like we had like the the pool game where you're kind of just scooping out water?
30:57It was effectively that just with sand and you would just have like a fork or a knife and it would just be absurd and you just be like clicking like mindlessly very fast to see who would win.
31:05But we don't have that. That game's not It's not I ditched it. I ditched I completely ditched it. I completely ditched it. Like I evolved it into like these other games and then I was like slowly realizing that the idea just was like I just realized the idea just wasn't very good.
31:20So it wasn't very good. So it wasn't very good for a multiplayer kind of thing. So this what I'm showing you is literally like the point of view of you in front of some dirt and it's literally a digging simulator. But it's actually kind of hard to do because it's based off of the game Quap.
31:38So you actually have to Nice.
31:41So, you have to except for this big quap guy.
31:44Yeah, except for this version. This one, this one's live. This is dig.quorop.com because there's actually I'll share this in the chat, too.
31:52Oh, wow. There's There's a lot of letters.
31:55So, this one's actually six letters, which then will go into Hey, just a quick question. Quick question. How come you didn't make it uh how come it's not uh qwy o? Cuz then it would have been symmetrical. ER really makes it very uns.
32:12It actually makes it so for my next game it actually makes it a lot easier to play which was one of the main reasons.
32:20Which maybe I can always switch it progression.
32:24You can switch it later. Again, I can always tell my LLM to change it but for right now this is what it is.
32:29We're one we're one sentence away.
32:32Mhm. So right now Q and W will lift it up and down. E and R will basically change the angle.
32:39Oh, I'm sure I can play it.
32:41Oh, okay. There we go.
32:41Okay. Can you see me now?
32:46You can see it now, right?
32:48Yeah. Why are you going up and down like that? It's weird.
32:50I was trying to demo the movement that Okay, so Q and W are up and down. E and R are the angles, right?
32:58Oh, I love this. You have the oppos.
33:03And then O is like you're pushing it down to the ground. And P is you're pulling it out. So what you would want to do is you do W to lower it. And then you get your little angle in there. And then you push uh oh god. Push down with O. Change your little thingy here. Get it up. And then you pull it out. And then you lift it. And then you move your thing over here. And then you change the angle. Boom.
33:26So there's like different milestones. We have these milestones here where you can get to a certain depth. And it actually saves everything in local storage. So, this is not something you have to do in one activity. So, if you're bored one day and you just want to like dig cuz that's just like the dig.
33:38You know what I'm saying?
33:40You have to dig some dirt. You go in there. Boom.
33:43See you. You go over here and then that's literally it. And so you'll at each level you'll see different things. I think there's like dinosaur fossils at some point.
33:52What do you mean like uh well made successfully dig here. I'll go to my local version that's a little bit deeper. So, this version's a little bit deeper. So, there's some things in there. You see that?
34:07What is it? What is that like golden rope that's sticking out? I think it's supposed to be a worm. Is it supposed to be a worm?
34:12I'm pretty sure in both screens. Okay.
34:16It's a worm. It's a worm. Okay.
34:18I just I just made this. It just just it just just deployed just now. Okay. You know what I'm saying? So, you can see it gets deeper, but you can see how you can get you can get pretty deep in this game. Okay.
34:29So, I'm gonna I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna see how far I can get. My goal is to actually get to the bottom, but it makes it interesting because you can kind of like figure out get your rhythm with the with the shovel.
34:40See that? So, this is again this is like this is more of like those truck drive like truck driver simulators, plane simulators here. This is it's literally just a digging simulator, right?
34:49Digging simulator mixed with quap. I can respect that trash.
34:53Okay. Now for the actual game that I want everybody to play.
34:57Okay, you don't have to play it now, but you can play later in life. We have this new game.
35:06Oh, I love where this is going.
35:08And you have to pitch. So Q is your arm. Q Q W is your arm.
35:15E R is your torso. And you can lose balance. You can lose your balance. So you have to time it really good. All right. And then OP OP is your legs. All Oh, trash. It's great.
35:27So, you have to figure out how to I've been practicing a lot, so I'm not bad at that. Was a pretty good throw.
35:35I've been playing I've I've threw at least like 5,000 pitches in this game. Okay. So, what you could do is you can try to get I think the highest score you can get right now.
35:43What's the web address?
35:47Everybody go. You can go on the leaderboard. It's domain for this. I love that.
35:52It's a It's a live leaderboard. So So if you get a high score, you can actually share your score here and then go put it on Twitter or whatever you want to do.
35:58That's it. I'm getting jee to figure all of this out.
36:01No, don't use your your lls, dude. I I will be so mad. But this game So So I made this game yesterday and I was playing with friends. We were like, "Oh man, this is like actually super deep." We're like sitting here playing it forever cuz it took me probably an hour just to get like a really good a really good form.
36:19So yeah. I see. I see this.
36:22But hey, I need faster reset. I need faster reset.
36:26True. True. Needs like instant back to the next instantaneous. Okay.
36:30It's like it's like a It's like a second, right? Or two seconds.
36:33That's way too long.
36:34I mean, I'll deploy that.
36:35Yo, it should be You fall over. You should just be able to press space and it goes right back. Space just resets.
36:40All right. I'm I'm doing it right now.
36:43I'm doing How do I throw the ball?
36:48So that that's my do. So this is the game I really It's actually quaace.
36:54Okay. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know.
36:56Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Hold on, dude. I I do. I I have this.
36:59I know. Prime. I want to watch Prime do it for I want I know, but I know Prime would Prime's going to like not He's going to play until he can't I just lost a week of productivity from him on this one. Trash. Thanks.
37:09Okay. Okay. Okay. Hold on.
37:11So 602, I think, is the highest score that you can get. And I think we've got in 601. I cleared the leaderboard before uh What do you mean? It's the highest you can possibly get. Like I rotate a little funny.
37:27Don't complain. Just get used to it.
37:28Acclimate. Acclimate.
37:30Great point. Great point. Great point.
37:32Okay. Okay. Okay. Someone someone scored a 601. The the fastest you can throw it is 90 miles hour and a strike.
37:39The more accurate the strike, meaning it's in the middle of the strike zone, the more bonus points you get.
37:45And then the faster you throw it, the more points you get. Okay.
37:48So, it's all about speed and accuracy.
37:51All right. So, that's what makes it super super hard.
37:54Once you once you figure it out, it's good.
37:58Prime Prime's addicted now.
38:00Yes. I do. It is. It is a great game. Okay. Okay. It is a great game.
38:05This is a A+. This is a A+ game for me.
38:08Yeah. Crop is This is incredible. I just want to play it so bad for like an hour to get this like throw down.
38:15Nice. Plum did it. Nice job, Plum. GG easy. Dude, GG Easy gets 90 mph. He's cheating. There's a cheater.
38:21Casey, any thoughts?
38:23Um, I'm probably the wrong target audience cuz I like I hate quap games.
38:28Like, so so this is like almost impossible for me to judge. I think we should just use Prime how how long Prime plays it for as the as the score for Trash's game because that that's like he's obviously the target audience, right, Casey? Have you seen Prime do actual quap?
38:45No, I I didn't know that. I didn't know that he was a capper.
38:50Yeah. A little quick. Okay. So, just to be fair, I have not quapped in like in any serious capacity for for a long time, Casey. So, it's going to take me a second to remember how to do this. Hold on. Okay. Yep. Yep. Hold on. Give me a second.
39:05He just got messed up on Quorop, obviously. So, it's like, oh my gosh, what is going on?
39:11Trash is messing up his uh messing up his mustard. Okay, I think I I think I almost got it back. Just give me a second.
39:19One time me and Prime did multiplayer quap as in we both played one half of the keyboard.
39:24What is happening right now?
39:26Oh gosh. Okay. Okay.
39:29Okay. That was okay.
39:30Give me a second. Blue. You kind of got Oh, there we go.
39:34I'm still not feeling it. I'm still not feeling it. My My quab skills have clearly deteriorated.
39:39Oh, yeah. Look at that. Now this All right, one more. Oh my gosh, we've got multiple weeks of lost productivity now cuz you're just back on train.
39:54Oh yeah. Oh yeah, you're getting my gaming face, which by the way, back.
39:59Why I can't why I can't do uh why I can't do gaming and streaming cuz I get the most intense face.
40:06That isn't that good. Isn't that good for a game streaming?
40:08Oh, look. DID YOU SEE THAT SWEET MOVE?
40:10OH, THE BUNNY HOP, DUDE. BECAUSE I QUED AN uncontrollable amount.
40:18LOOK AT THAT. THEY DON'T CALL ME Twinkle Toes for nothing. Okay, buddy.
40:23Do they call you Twinkle Toes at all?
40:25I beat in this game.
40:27Wait, you can beat Quap? I didn't know that.
40:29Do you not see how fast I'm going?
40:31You are going very fast right now, actually.
40:32Oh no. OH NO. OH NO. OH GOD.
40:37Good save. Oh, but this is where I get kind of into that really hard zone where uh you have to now do the hurdle.
40:48OH, YOU KNOW, DUDE, I HAD IT. I had it. Great one.
40:53All right. I You know, I I could get back into it, but I can't.
40:56Do you also play Did you play like Sexy Hiking or its successor uh Getting Over It with Bennett FOD?
41:02Uh I did I did play I did play get try play Getting Over It for a moment. It is getting over it is is really hard. You have to really get in there. I couldn't quite hit the same Okay.
41:13as Qua. Qua was like naturally spoke to me immediately.
41:18I know. I'm I'm going to really get into this.
41:20All right. So, what about you? What about uh TJ?
41:23Prime. Do you want to go or me? I've got I'm ready.
41:26Honestly, TJ, yours is probably really good. TJ's is always really good. He's So, Prime first. Prime first. Probably go first. Okay. Okay. Let me send you guys the web address cuz I we can't have a bunch of people pile in. So, please do not share it.
41:41So, hold on. Let me get there. Uh let me just make sure that that last one has been actually kicked off. Actually, TJ, could you go cuz I need a moment longer.
41:49Okay, sure. I've got two. How about I show my first one?
41:53The only reason why I'm telling you this is because uh the the music would go on right away and it was a little too distracting. So, I had to I had to take that out. What I' what I'd love is for trash, could could you share your screen again screen again and then play this for me cuz I think that would be the best version of it since it's your game experience. I think it'll be straightforward to play. So, dude, you you got Gary Tan cable.
42:16You got Gary Tan. You got to do you got Yes, we can. We can. But you need to improve your USBC's. That's your problem.
42:23You got to go to Gary Tan. I don't know where he is right now, but ask him what kind of cable did he use so that the AIS kept working. Well, the good news is that Gary Tan has Gary Tan AI. So, you can actually go to Gary Tan at any point and go and talk to him hours.
42:36Go to Gary Tan AI. Ask, "How do I make what cable do I need to make the AI working on my machine?"
42:44Okay. I love that Trash made a video game. And the response is, I actually have to restart my computer from playing.
42:51I need to refresh Riverside, too.
42:53It's Riverside, Casey. Hey, it's just me and you. How you doing? Nice tea, by the way. What you drinking?
42:57It's not tea, it's just water, actually.
42:58I'm sorry. I Oh, I thought it's a fancy glass, but Okay.
43:02Yeah, cuz I only get to see you through a very small window.
43:06And so it looked kind of like it had a little bit of coloring to it.
43:08Yeah, I do drink tea in the same glass. I just don't am not right now.
43:13I I like a good cinnamon herbal spice, if you will.
43:16Okay, that's nice. A cinnamon herbal spice is a go-to Sunday morning drink for me.
43:20I love cinnamon. I love cinnamon tea.
43:22Very dainty. Very dignified.
43:25Yeah, dignified. I wouldn't call it dainty.
43:27It's a bit dainty. My favorite cinnamon tea. Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
43:32Cuz that's CTC right there, right? Cinnamon tea.
43:38Toast Crunch. Exactly. To test Crunch.
43:42Trash is currently restarting his computer. How What kind of website have you built that requires a computer restart?
43:48That is insane that Trash's current situation is I don't know, guys. My game went so bad it turned my computer off from the browser. He discovered a zero day in Chrome. Like, what happened?
44:02I I'm actually super I Dude, he's getting 502s. Apparently, he said 602, but I assume he's doing 502. I wonder if he has Cloudflare tunneling to his own computer and then told everybody Oh my goodness, you're probably right. He's not hosting it from his own computer.
44:18Wait, can you play the game while he's rebooting? Can you play the game while he's rebooting? Because if not, that is what happened.
44:25That is actually such a funny It's possible.
44:28I wish I wish it was true. I don't think it's true, but I wish.
44:30No, it's still up. It's still up.
44:32Okay. So, it's probably disappointing.
44:34Like, I'm looking at I'm looking at it here and it's running.
44:38Gotcha. Gotcha. I'm back.
44:39All right. Cool. All right. Track 118 p.m.
44:43That's right. That's what it says. That is what it says.
44:48One last migration. Gasura. Ooh, trash in espanol. I like it. Gotcha. Track anything. Remember everything. Never lose an argument again. Time to ship it. Press space to ship it. Gotcha. V1 is live. It's beautiful. Now, let's find out who really leaves the dishes in the sink.
45:10I see what digging means in this situation.
45:14The next morning, walk with arrow keys, face evidence, and press space to log it with God. Press enter to check your gotcha log in space.
45:24Oh, what did you do?
45:30Oh my. The dish pile.
45:33Dishes in sink. Day 41. The fork has achieved sentence or sentience. What? Oh my god. Exhibit A. The one that started it all. Oh my. I got to show this to my wife. She's going to love this game. Every cabinet door is open. The kitchen looks like it's screaming.
45:53That's actually pretty good. That's pretty good.
45:55I'll close them after the photo. Maybe four boxes. It was on sale. Logged. The tower of consumerism. Tagged and filed.
46:10Set to for 74 degrees Fahrenheit. I set it to 68. A six degree betrayal. The numbers don't lie. I do, but the numbers don't. Oh my goodness.
46:23So, Tee, I'm curious. Like, yep.
46:26Because you had to prompt an AI to do this. Did you have to prompt the AI with an explanation of what Trash had done with his receipts app?
46:36I'll be honest with you, Casey.
46:37I did not have to pro Trash, go check some of the other doors, too, before you go.
46:41I know. I was about to go. Oh, yep.
46:44Wait, what's this thing following me?
46:46Oh, you'll find out.
46:47You're digging yourself into Okay, that's cute.
46:51This is literally I'm not joking though, Casey. I think our podcast about the receipts app is in the training data because it picked some of the exact ones without me having to do anything.
47:06Are we that important?
47:08Really common. Like leaving dishes in the sink is just like No. No. cuz I specifically told it to go do a little bit of research on some of the stuff from our podcast and everything. So it like uh by the way this was not very many prompts either. This I started this this morning that so so you literally so the AI now know about Trash's app.
47:29Yep. Yeah. Trash. Why don't you talk to her?
47:32Esposa wants to talk. Go. Gotcha. What do accuse? Gotcha. All right, I'm going to dig a dig. I'm just saying I'm supposed to use deeper accuse dish pile presented the dish pile. Exhibit A. 14 dishes timestamped geotagged. It's super effective on Bura's hole. Those are your dishes from your ramen. Basura is knee deep now. The hole got deeper. You're supposed to use the look.
48:09It's super effective on Basura. What will Basura do? I'm running, dude. She's standing in the doorway. There's no running from this conversation. Was supposed to use I'm fine. It's a trap. Bas fell for it. Gotcha. Let's do push. Whoa. Export PDF.
48:30Push notification from the app. Okay.
48:32He's It's all the different things he can do from the app. I page log.
48:37I exported a 12-page PDF and as a table of context supposed to use counter evidence. Oh my goodness. She pulled up three years of text sorted by date. Basur is waist deep. The hole got a lot deeper. Dude, this is insane.
48:53I'm kind of confused why it keeps saying the hole got deeper, but it it doesn't seem to have gotten much deeper.
49:01No, I mean the in the whole depth meter, but perspective. Oh, the whole depth meter. Yeah. Yeah.
49:05Oh, I wasn't even paying attention to that.
49:07The meter meter has The meter is just not connected, maybe.
49:09Yeah. Yeah, it says there's There you go. See, I'm getting lower.
49:12It's supposed to went to the bedroom.
49:17Look how big my hole is.
49:18You're in big trouble now.
49:21The thing I like about this game is it's its accuracy. It's It's This is This is extremely accurate.
49:27This is like It has like a good real life accuracy.
49:30That literally looks like my wife too.
49:33Expos wants to talk. Go. Gotcha. Oh my god. So, just keep doing this until I get to the bottom.
49:39Yeah. Yeah. I think uh So, then Right. So, yes, after you do this fight, um usually it'll say maybe I instead of making an app, I should make a game about digging. We don't have to play the Let's just see it. Let's just see it.
49:56The bar is getting the the whole depth. The bar It did go up. It did go up. It goes up a little.
50:02Oh, I'm sorry. You feel that way? Bad move. Trash. Bad move.
50:07Here we go. Calm down.
50:12Oh no. That's like the most triggering statement ever.
50:17I hate you. Well, that's that's a little heavy-handed. Supposedly hates Basura.
50:27Oh my go. This is amazing. Gotcha. Wow. Maybe I'll try making games.
50:40That was uh Yeah, I gotta show this to my wife. This is way too good.
50:45This is way too good. Oh my. I have no words.
50:50I have no words for that.
50:53Thank you. Thank you.
50:54That reminds me kind of of like the Pony Island sort of genre of games if you guys know.
51:02I don't know. I'm not I don't watch My Little Pony.
51:05Do you guys You guys don't know Pony Island. You don't know the Hex. Do you know the Hex?
51:12You Oh god. All right. D classic.
51:16All right. Well, fine.
51:18You pen Island. You know Pen Island.
51:20Yeah. Pen Island. Yes.
51:25All right. Prime, are you ready? I got I believe I believe I am ready, but I I just want to triple make sure. Okay. I just want to make sure everything Okay. See, just for uh just for while Prime, you're getting that set up. I'll just mention a few things about the game. So, I started that this morning. That was all Opus 55. I wanted to test it out since that's what the original tweet was.
51:45I probably spent I spent less than two hours probably on the game. Um how many hours did you spend thinking about it?
51:55Um, I had the idea very early on after Trash said game.
52:01Yeah. Yeah. Of making one about him digging himself in a huge hole. Um, I like that.
52:06My wife thought it was hilarious. I showed her this morning as I was making it and she was like, "That's really good. I can't wait for that to to go." So, I knew I was on to something. That's called Market Research.
52:14Is anybody in the game?
52:16By the way, is anyone in the game?
52:18Oh, did you share it?
52:19Yeah, I shared it in the standup. I just want to make sure because Yes. Uh, okay. Nice. I see somebody. I see someone joined up. Nice, nice, nice, nice.
52:25I'm coming. I'm coming. Hold on.
52:27Okay. Awesome. Awesome. Okay. So, everyone enter in your name. Okay. Hold on. We got to share the screen. Does anyone want to share their screen?
52:35Okay. Uh why don't you share trash?
52:37Trash designated share.
52:38Okay. Prime. I have a question.
52:41For you cuz I really I need to know the answer to this question.
52:46Every time. So, all of the games that Trash showed at the beginning, maybe not so much the the actual hole digging game uh or the baseball game, but like all the pre the all the ones previous to that and then the one that TJ showed, the art was all reasonable, but every time you've shown a game, it looks great.
53:09Super like I don't even know what I'm looking at. I can't even parse what is my character. What What are you prompting differently that makes it so that it's unintelligible when when What is going on?
53:21You'd be shocked that this piece of artwork that you're looking at cost OVER $500.
53:25WHAT? WHAT HAPPENED THOUGH, BRO? HOW, DUDE? HOW? What's going on?
53:31I don't I You know what? I got to figure that out at another time. Okay. Okay.
53:34I'm not an artist. All right. BUT BUT YOU'RE NOT BUT YOU'RE BUT THE AI IS YOU'RE YOU'RE NOT MAKING the art. The AI is making it. And it why is it making pixel art that looks okay for for TJ and not for you?
53:45My guess is that TJ's using real photos.
53:48I didn't use any real photos, right? I assume he didn't TJ did not describe what trash looked like in English to get that good of a Yeah, but look at TJ's avatar and Casey's. What is that?
53:58I don't know what I'm looking. It just looks like a big mess.
54:01I mean stuff. I don't know what's happening.
54:03The shadow. You only see your avatar and then you see the shadows of the other players.
54:07Okay. Well, I'm ready.
54:09What am I? I haven't I haven't entered in mine. Well, you just look at yours. I I don't know what yours look like. Okay. Mine looks terrifying. Just in case you're wondering, mine looks very scary. Okay. I'm going to share it.
54:17I'm ready. Whatever.
54:18Mine just looks like looks like visual noise. Like it loaded an image wrong. It looks like like the loader was broken or something. It doesn't look right.
54:26So, yours looks like Okay. Yours look terrible.
54:28I I will try to explain what's going on here, which is that we have a digging game. All right. Cuz I thought we were making digging games. TJ once again hit the uh hit the pun. And so how it works is a real digging game too.
54:42Yes. As you can see on the side there is uh left, down, up, right.
54:47There will be a song that plays and arrows that come up.
54:51Depending on how accurately you hit the arrows is how fast you dig.
54:55Oh, I love the audio.
54:57It you don't have to. It's not that great of a song, just in case you're wondering. Fable did create it. Depending on how fast you or how well you hit the the uh arrows is how fast you dig downwards.
55:10If you fall off the screen revolution.
55:13If you fall off the screen then you die or you're supposed to die and it's supposed to be the fastest person going down. I was going to put in like other types of dirt that is harder. You could go left and right. All right.
55:23But all of those I couldn't do.
55:26So instead we did this one. So I'm going to hit enter.
55:28All right. So now you pretty much just have to start. Oh my gosh.
55:32Is it WASD or arrow keys?
55:34It looks like it's uh WASD.
55:37All right. So, Mine doesn't register any pushes no matter how accurate I am.
55:41Yeah, mine's definitely going real fast.
55:45So, I'm just pressing down arrow and apparently that just works. Okay. So, that's not supposed to happen. And you guys are supposed to die.
55:53This is This is not working at all.
55:55It's not working at all. And so, I didn't try it out today.
55:58It's also not on the beat.
55:59Yep. It's not on the beat, dude.
56:01I know it's not on the beat at all.
56:02Also, you can just keep pitting down.
56:03You don't have to do anything.
56:05Hey, KC. But look, the networking does work, which you have to at least be impressed with that.
56:09I actually I don't You're not.
56:13This is better than Call of Duty.
56:15Well, that left and Why is it that you move left and right when you hit the things? It doesn't even make sense as a game concept.
56:25Like, if I just hit left and right, I dig right and left. What? What do you mean?
56:30Like why would it not be that I'm digging straight? It's a dance game. I It's so obviously it got a little bit confused. It It put the arrows there and it just kept the arrows, but it didn't actually do anything with the arrows.
56:43No, I'm saying it's doing stuff with the arrows. It's that I when I dig to the right, I go to the right. That doesn't make sense for a digging game where it was supposed to go down.
56:50That was That was part of the original idea was that we're playing right now.
56:54If there would be No, I dug all the way to the bottom basically and just gave up. I'm way down there.
56:58I'm trying to actually play.
57:03So, so, so, so the the original idea was that you press the arrows that are coming and then each one of those would give you a strength of how hard you get to hit and then you could choose your direction because there could be like rock and rock would take like 10 hits. So, you'd want to go around the rock.
57:19Obviously, a pretty difficult game. Lots of arrow keys going on at that point and so I decided just to go straight down. It didn't listen to my straight down instructions. Instead, this is what we got. Like I said, didn't have time. This is where we got to.
57:31Yeah, I did figure out.
57:32You were saying last week you were all tilted at me that I had to fly back to San Francisco cuz you were so ready for a digging game.
57:39I exaggerated real real bad. Real real bad.
57:44Oh, I exaggerated very very much so.
57:48I'm still laughing and I'm hitting all the all the dang arrows.
57:51I'll show my I'll show my own.
57:54Oh, you made TJ. You made two games.
57:56Yeah, he made an actual digging game apparently, right?
58:01I don't I don't know how you're going to top that one though. Good luck. I mean, you know, trash, you share again and you can show it. We'll see how it works. This one is way rougher cuz it's a much more ambitious project, but it does actually do some stuff and you'll love the concept of it.
58:18All right. Where is Can you Can someone share screen? Yeah, Trish is going to share his screen screen again. He's the Uh, I don't think so. It has music again, but I don't think I added a audio slider. I didn't think about you have to share in Riverside and stuff.
58:32Uh, I can't read any of this. It's too small.
58:37It says new game, load game, import options, gravel empire, new game.
58:43So, it's it's roller coaster tycoon but for digging.
58:47Oh, so um so trash, you can hit new game.
58:51All of the stuff's kind of it's too small for probably the size of screen here. I didn't implement probably the right kind of zooming looks good on my screen screen, etc. But so trash, you can start hiring people. So you go to hire, you get workers to come in, right?
59:05So then they then you start digging and it's a big gravel pit and you're trying to basically build an empire to do as much gravel things as you can. Here you're digging. I made an actual digging game. Like it's about digging as well, right? You know what I mean? So then trash, you've got your workers, right?
59:23And then in the in the top right up there, there's a little um the dig like the dig icon. Yeah, that guy right there. You can start planning out the spots that you want dug, how deep you want it to be, etc. Then these guys will come over there and then they'll start digging them. Or maybe not if I didn't uh if I pushed a broken version.
59:45Yeah. Yeah. So I'm Yeah, there you go.
59:47That's That's a very deep That's a very deep. I think you need to build a road out to them trash. It's It's Roller Coaster Tycoon. They can't walk without getting on grass dig site, right?
59:58How much money do you have? How come you can just build all this so easily?
1:00:01Uh, it's in your It's in your bottom left.
1:00:03Okay, now what? I made a road to it.
1:00:05Can't they get to it?
1:00:06You did not all trash. It's 3D. That's down, dude. You're You have to go to the like the little dry things on the top. Come on, trash.
1:00:14I've never played Roller Coaster Tycoon.
1:00:16Okay. Yeah, but you know how 3D works. Get the road like make the road go to the tile that it's on.
1:00:24But but can I can I just uh move this over?
1:00:28Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Tell them to dig somewhere else then. Or make more foot paths.
1:00:35No, no, no, no, no, no. Trash the top. The the Okay, this is good user feedback.
1:00:40I AM TILTED. I'M TILTED. I'M SO tilted right now.
1:00:42Oh, I got it. I got it. I got it.
1:00:44I don't know if they can dig. I think I made it though so they can't dig uh that deep right away. Trash, you got to start like them with a small a small dig.
1:00:52Yeah, they have to build to it, right?
1:00:54Unless I messed it up.
1:00:55They probably can't even do four meters.
1:00:56Why would you dig on the road, Trash?
1:00:59I JUST I just want to see them make it to it.
1:01:01One meter. Do one meter.
1:01:03Yeah, maybe you should share screen.
1:01:06This makes no sense. Okay, now what?
1:01:09I thought they would dig when I was testing. They dig now. So, can I not remove these?
1:01:15Uh, they're hired. No, those are the people that you're hired.
1:01:19No, I'm talking about the Maybe you need to put them in a crew. Trash. Try put them in a crew.
1:01:24I'll check I'll check myself here. I'll check myself as well.
1:01:28Pick up pick them up and put them down somewhere else. I do that.
1:01:32All right. I I I am I am I am building.
1:01:34Oh, there we go. There we go. I got it.
1:01:36They're doing it right.
1:01:37I have to pick them up.
1:01:39Oh, nice. See, they got the same roller coaster tycoon situation here. They're not digging though. Is it the wrong time of the day? They're only supposed to work during certain times of the day, too. You also This is way too cru 7 to 3:30.
1:01:54No. No. So, you can also Okay, so trash. It won't necessarily work right now, but see the little house icon next to the next to the road. There's like you can start building buildings and machines and Oh, you have to give them Did any of them have shovels yet? Trash? I don't think we gave any of them shovels yet.
1:02:11What is happening? Okay. Uh, how do I give him It's a building game.
1:02:17How do I give him a shovel?
1:02:18I TJ, this is fantastic. I love I love the art style.
1:02:22Thanks. I I need I needed one more day to to do this since I started this at uh 10:00 a.m. my time, which is three hours before standup start.
1:02:32Oh, you can fire people.
1:02:33I don't know how to make them start, though.
1:02:36I don't know how to give them a shovel. I'll I'll set this up for next week, guys. I'll set this up for next week. I needed I needed just a little more time. I needed a little more time. All right. Anyways, on potential though, I feel like I get one potential grading, too. This is roller.
1:02:51This is pretty good. I mean, thinking I like how it looks in general.
1:02:58Talk to us. What do you think about this?
1:03:00This I'm not going to lie to you guys. This is This is pretty rough. Uh, I guess what I'd say is, um, the only the only game that feels like it could potentially be a game, meaning like as it is as it is as presented, not potential. So, a fact of that for temporary.
1:03:24Uh, Trash's pitching game, but only because the genre of that game is that it's incredibly janky. Like the whole genre of quap games is that they don't really work. And so I'm not even really sure that's fair because, you know, that's quap is kind of what you would get if you didn't finish the game code, right? That's what quap is sort of intentionally. It's like here's we didn't actually, you know, make it into a standard polish game. We just hooked up, you know, these things directly to
1:03:54springs on the legs and good luck, right?
1:03:57Um, so I guess what I would say is I don't know. Like I don't feel like there's a way to really rank anything in this case. Um obviously Tee had the best uh if we if we gave out an award for narrative.
1:04:15Uh I think it was a good narrative. It was a good narrative.
1:04:18Clearly goes to Tee uh for his um trash parody.
1:04:25I just But other than that, I'm not sure. I would say uh if we went with potential I'm afraid much to all of your Sorry, what I actually I forgot I have loaded scenarios that are halfway through the game. Can trash reload and show where my game is in a scenario instead cuz Tracy Casey I got something cool going on in the middle of the game that will explain what it actually is. I want that's actually part of the game.
1:04:52Okay, I need one more shot. Trash reload and then go to scenarios.
1:04:58Travel Empire, of course. Because I think um I'm gonna pull ahead a little bit maybe after this audio real quick.
1:05:04Oh, yeah. Thank you. I'll add audio.
1:05:07You do know that you're going against like my game, right? Like what are you pulling ahead of?
1:05:12I want to see what I my vision for the game of what I set out to do. Okay. Trash. There's scenarios which Okay, we need to change the font size of this game, too. And then just click the bottom one. Bottom play button.
1:05:23The bottom one. Okay.
1:05:24Yeah. There you go. Okay. This is more where you're supposed to get to. Okay. Just as uh you get cranes, they fill up dump trucks, you're automating more. It's building a factory inside of the gravel pit as you're digging down. I just just at least show where the game's supposed to get to.
1:05:42Uh before we get the rating, you know, those two trucks just drove through each other. Oh my gosh, that truck just pulled right into him.
1:05:48There's They can do that in Roller Coaster Tycoon.
1:05:52Actually, they don't do that. I'll add a clip. Sorry. Anyways, continue. What I was going to say is uh on the on the potential front uh I I know everyone is going to be like what? But like honestly, if if Prime had actually made a game where like so two things, if you took the game that you had there and it wor and it worked at all, which it didn't, right? But let's imagine that you actually did have to
1:06:18hit the the DDR steps, right? Yeah. Um, and and you did a couple obvious things that you would want to do. Like for example, put the don't put the steps on the left. Put them under your character. Like this is kind of just like game 101.
1:06:35Yeah, I know. I like I said, it was a rough Okay. It was my idea. It was my idea that was So, if you did if you did some of those things, that actually seemed like the most promising game to me. Like, if you're like, which one of these would you play? Like, I would play that game.
1:06:48I probably wouldn't play any of these other I don't like quap games. So, again, I said I'm kind of the wrong judge for that. Maybe that baseball game's really good. Uh we'll let Prime be the judge of that because he, you know, he clearly clearly is the uh perfect judge of a quap game. So, he will give he will give it his thumbs up or thumbs down after 17 hours of play starting now.
1:07:09After I have missed several videos next week, I will be glad.
1:07:12So, he will he will judge that one. I I unfortunately can't. Maybe it's excellent. So, I'm not saying it's I'm not saying it's not. I just I couldn't tell you. Uh I didn't like Quap, so you I'm the wrong person. Uh the the Digging Tycoon game, unfortunately, just like I don't know. Like I mean, Sim games are sim games. Maybe if you like I don't see where the like interesting part of it is that makes it so like I'm going to want to play that. It kind of It's like it's a it's one of those orgy games where there's like 18,000 windows. Sometimes
1:07:41those come together. Uh you know, it's unlikely that it would. uh you know maybe the AI is really good at figuring out how to put those together, maybe it's not. I don't know. So I I wouldn't give that high odds, but I would have to actually like see the finished thing and see if it actually feels good to like organize and does that actually, you know, because that's all that that's what differentiates those games. Um so yeah, I I uh I unfortunately I apologize to everyone, but I'm going to have to give it to Bri,
1:08:11which I would also say looked the worst. like it it looks absolutely horrible. I don't know what is going on there.
1:08:19I don't know how to make it. Okay. I don't know how the things poison the well with the potential talk at the beginning.
1:08:27He swerved it all around.
1:08:30I I would just like to throw out there jury. You led the jury.
1:08:33I did. I did not. But but it wasn't But it's still Casey. He still gets to make his own decisions. Okay. Unless you're saying that Casey can't make his own decisions, trash, which I know you're not. Uh okay. First off, I just want to throw out there that I made up that game idea while watching Sophie Tucker live at Red Rocks.
1:08:49That was pretty good. Got to see it for my birthday.
1:08:52Got to see it for my birthday. A lot of fun. Uh and then uh number two, it could have been a good game. You know, if I would have actually had some time to set aside, I think I could have made it pretty good cuz I did. The only thing I tried on was the networking and that actually was pretty good. Like I watched you Casey next to me and it is all like time tracked. does like time differentials and so we actually are all listening to the same song at the same moments. All the arrows are in sync so everyone should have been digging in sync but uh screwed it up. In my defense
1:09:18also I would point out that I think that judging things on their potential like these are all these are all vibecoded games and the whole point of of the AI hype cycle is to talk about potential, right? Like no no one's talking about what we have. We're talking about what we might have. And so I think it is perfectly in line with the spirit of of of vibe coding to just say like, well, maybe someday this will be.
1:09:45But think about this, Casey. If we would have taken my digging game Yes.
1:09:50If I would have like just got some off-the-shelf assets, did very little work, or even tried to do be better at creating assets.
1:09:57I could have created a demo where like zoom in on the guy, put you TJ, just listen for a second. We could have zoomed in on the guy, the beats, the digging. Things look super good. Go over to TJ's gravel one. It could have looked so good as a demo. Like the demo would have been out of control. Like if TJ made a demo video, it would have been so hard not to say like this game is amazing. And so this is a this is really what demo videos look like when you play them. Okay, this is just what's happening right now.
1:10:26Well, why don't you guys do that? Why?
1:10:27Why post to your after this post to your feed like I spent $5 on tokens that I made something 10 times better than roller coaster tycoon and just show little like snippets of the thing.
1:10:39I would never bismerch roller coaster tycoon like that.
1:10:42I would never do that.
1:10:43But I would say inspired by Okay.
1:10:47All right. There you go.
1:10:49Thanks for the win. I knew I'd win. I knew I had a great idea. All right. I I knew my idea was actually good. TJ is so tilted right now because he's like rolling ideas was great.
1:11:00No, I don't think my I think it needed a few more days to cook. If I didn't have to if I wasn't in San Francisco last week, I think I would have I could have had a clean sweep here for best narrative and best uh possibility as well. Best potential. I'll take I'll take one.
1:11:13So, for next year, we're just going for best ideas.
1:11:16But but hold on. But Trash won like best overall game, right? He won actual like game that fits genre and was most completed. Oh, for quap. You're saying no, for wear up.
1:11:27Well, I think I think I had to defer to you, Prime. So, you will you will award that because you have to play it and determine if it's a good quap game.
1:11:35Oh, I can tell you right away it's a good quap game.
1:11:37Then there we go. That's all we really need.
1:11:39I want to play it very winner cuz let's be honest, like I'm not going to play any of these games. But if but if Prime is going to play the Cororop game, then that is an actual like you got an actual player, which is I know. I actually I actually really want to go play.
1:12:00Yeah, that's a good sign, dude. Someone two people got 603. I don't know if they're using computer use or whatever. That's insane. I don't understand.
1:12:08I love computer use by Quir Up. Is this is so funny.
1:12:14What's your highest trash? What's your highest?
1:12:18Dang, that's good.
1:12:19And I've I've never been anywhere close since. It was like a fluke.
1:12:23Yeah, one of those magic ones. Oh, it feels good when you have a magic one. It feels like that's what makes co-op games so good is when you hit something that actually even looks natural and you're like that that was like that's good game right there. I'm amazing at this game.
1:12:37So, for the core game, like right now it's like your best single pitch, but I might do like a mode where you have to actually throw like a strike out and then whatever your three strikes are roll into like your highest score. So you have to actually do it consistently which is the hard harder part.
1:12:50You could also do the other side where you have to like lift up your leg, move the bat bat up and swing through the other baseball.
1:12:59You know, you could have all three. You could even have catching. You have to move your guy and try to catch it.
1:13:05Yeah. Trash trash with this whole genre.
1:13:08I was going to do like trash baseball.
1:13:12Trash. If you did it where you did uh like each of the three spots, what you could do is you could record people doing their pitches, like send that up and save them. So you don't have to actually wait for someone to do the pitch. You just like have a bank of pitches that people do and they could get pitched to your batter, right? So they're all real co-op pitches. And then similarly, you'd have people bat and then catch. You could do all three.
1:13:38I see the best pitch out there, right? You just got to make sure all the data and everything does not get exposed onto the window object so people could quit computer using and then just use canvas so they can't like they have to take images, right? Like take away all availability for them to cheat.
1:13:54I will do my best.
1:13:58Okay. Well, I'm going to go work on my Sim game and I'm going to make it so good Casey does want to play it next week.
1:14:03TJ is so bad right now.
1:14:06I'm actually not though.
1:14:07I thought I was going to come second. My my Pokemon inspired trash game did exactly what I wanted it to do. So that was my main that was the main one I wanted. So that was a switch.
1:14:20I mean I think you could make that one into a real game, but it's like there wasn't really much gameplay.
1:14:24Oh, it's not a real game. It's just a joke.
1:14:26Yeah, but you could you could just make a JRPG where you have to try and Yeah.
1:14:32Yeah. They actually already did that.
